let's make a deal, Barb, my professorial pal...

you get to neener when I'm laying like a wet dishrag, semi-comatose during the 98% humidity, 98 degrees days of May, okay?

Dec. Jan. and Feb. in the tropics are heavenly... the swarms of mossies are gone, the invasions of termites and ants are over, and it's peaceful, calm, cool, and temperate....

large flocks of Aztec parakeets are swooping overhead, and cackling merrily, the plantains are ripening, and hurricane season is OVER... so lemme *enjoy* it a bit...

Good afternoon everyone. Today started out with my neighbor fixing the toilet and drain in Jim's shower. I got to talk to Trish this morning and last night (I am blessed) and one contractor sent a bid to me. One down, two to go.

It's snowing here and while it's pretty; yuck yuck yuck. Chris's car is still in Arlington Height's at the trans place. It's been almost three weeks and I called and gave my local mechanic a what for and told him to never send my cars that far ever again. He agreed and I think he may be dumping this guy. He keeps claiming the parts he needs aren't coming in or they send the wrong ones. They said they may get the part today and fix it but now that it's snowing I am sure the guy will say the snow is keeping him from bringing it back. Whatever, not going to stress it.

Anyway, hopefully I'll get some packages in the mail so I can finish wrapping gifts and making my baskets for everyone coming to our party. I was able to get Jim's new batteries in his back up wheelchair and take it downstairs so that's done.

Stay warm and hugs to all who need it.

(((Sox))) - Feel better.

Barb
- I have to ditto what Kay posted with the exception of the humidity. In the winter though, dry air feels cooler than moist air. In the summer, it's a blazing heat as in the desert [you can remember your name, 'cause there ain't no one . . . oh, sorry got carried away singing that and thinking of Kay as she always "sings" that to me. LOL]. . . so I was saying . . .in the desert there isn't much shade so the sun blares.

Sarah - Neurotin is one of my best friends. LOL. I have been taking it for about 5 years now and although I still have some breakthrough pain, it is manageable. Gotta love the stuff.

Sandy - I am blessed too for the phone calls. Sorry about Chris' car. That's crazy. Hopefully, it will get fixed soon. And, way to go on getting 1 bid in and Jim's wheelchair taken care of.

Vonn - Where are you? Hoping that you are doing OK and things are going well for you.

Kelly
- Big cyber:hug:'s for you.

thanks, Tricia ... I'm good ...

taking my final today ... and working on Christmas goodies .. and a package here and there ... just staying warm and looking forward to moving next summer ..

hope everyone has a great day ...

if anyone is counting - TWO turtle doves are due

Kay, It is a deal! LOL!

Athough, I think you just convinced us all to come down and visit after XMAS. And I do have to admit that the snow is rather pretty.

Tami - That is just breathtaking! Thanks for sharing that picture.

Vonn - Glad you posted. You are a busy little elf these days! Good luck on your finals.
