It's finally stopped raining here in GA but the high today is supposed to be 70 degrees! It's dang December!! But we're supposed to be back to normal by Monday and the low's back to the 30's. It does this every year.....we should be used to it by now.

Everybody be careful up there in IL....sounds like ya'll are in for a doozy of a winter storm. I hope you've got plenty of food and necessities stored away. Just the mere mention of snow here sends people scurrying to the stores and they stock up like they're gonna be home bound for months!

No, I'm at the office today, and if we did go, we'd be driving back in it at end of day rush hour anyway. We'll just go tomorrow and be extra prepared. DH drove the suburbs for years in winter construction jobs, we should be fine. My car has electronic stability control too, and that helps a lot when it's slippery.

Have something to eat Momma and put your feet up.

Haha Wiz! That is so true! Jim and I survived the Blizzard of 79 and the Valentines Day blizzard in 1990! I'll never forget them for sure! I remember opening my back door and it was all snow. I had to dig through it. We lived on the second floor and the snow was drifted all the way up. The 1990 snow, wow is all I can say. I gained huge respect for Jim driving a Ford Escort on I88 for hours on hours. It took us well over five hours to get from West Chicago to unincorporated Hinsdale. No one had lanes, it was a free for all!

Vonn...good thing you don't have an outhouse! lol How did people survive all those years ago without central heat, indoor toliets.

My grandparents had an outhouse when I was small...to this day I remember going out there and it was freezing!!!

So, I'm confused about where the snow/ice line is here in Illinois...the grocery store was jammed this morning...sometimes I wonder if the weather people are in cahoots with the stores, so that we all panic and go shopping for supplies....
I had an endodontist appt tomorrow, but rescheduled it...there's no way I have enough in me to deal with traffic during a snow storm.
I am so dang tired...and during a therapy appt today, where I get some eeg work, my right leg kept spasing...the calf and then the quad...kind of hard to keep relaxed when your leg demands attention...:(
I have so much to do, but no energy to do it...caffeine isn't even helping me. I just want to sleep...

Barb, please be careful...take some sand or salt, as well as some carpet to put under tires in case you get stuck. And take a blanket to keep warm.

I need to go out and bring some firewood up to the house in case we get more ice than snow, which means that the electricity would go out. But I just don't have any energy right now...maybe DH or DS can do it this evening.

Sandy, Wiz, Frank/Deb, be careful with this storm coming...:holysheep:

Thanks everyone!

We are suppose to miss the snow down here, but we are under a freezing rain advisory. Don't worry; I plan on checking the road conditions in the morning and if it is nasty I will delay leaving. I already have a down comforter in the car, and plan on taking some snacks and drinks. It actually is not supposed to be to cold tomorrow. Highs in the upper 30s.

My sister and family are supposed to fly into Chicago on Saturday and stay with BIL's family in Naperville through the 25th and then fly to be with us in Ohio. I just called and told them that the National Weather Service is forecasting 7 to 11 inches of sleet/snow tonight and another 1 to 3 on Friday. My niece says she wants to play in the snow. She is three and has not seen snow except for on tv. It looks like she might get her wish. Of course she says she is freezing when it is 60 degrees;). I am not sure which is worse -- flying or driving at this time of the year!

Everyone up north stay warm!

Just stay safe no matter where you are and wish the same for your family.
