Wow...today is Saturday...I hate having holidays in the middle of the week cause I can't figure out if I'm supposed to be getting ready for the weekend or just hangin in the week. When you retired however everyday is Saturday!!

I will be doing the usual for Sat...trying to get some house work done before the pain hits and crashing because I did the work!!:thud:

:o

I TRY to focus on the upside, but somedays it jes' don' work.

yesterday was a flamin' disaster, Momma!

it was feed-run day, over the river, and through the woods we go... taking the hand-cranked ferry... from the back-of-beyond, to even FURTHER out into nowheresville.

moments after we loaded up 1000 lbs of milo, whole corn, rabbit pellets, and sow ration at the Feed Mill, DH fired up our leetle Mazda farm truck, and OH NO !!!

it won't SHIFT... the clutch pedal goes clear to the FLOOR, and nuffin, nada, zilch, ZIP !!!

and it's over two miles walk to the nearest shop... way beyond my capabilities, seriously.

naturally, my MS-emergency bag (book, change of clothes, water bottle, snacks, rain-poncho, P-Mate, Kleenex, etc,) is in the OTHER truck...

:(:o:(

so, first gear it is... molly-coddled the truck to CB Auto down the road a stretch... at 5 mph.

okay, the guy says he can fix it, that's cool... but... it'll be a while.

moved the truck to the shade of a Sapote tree, while hubby hoofed it back a mile to a store for eats.

then, four HOURS of sitting, reading the contents of the glove box (a manual for our DVD player en Espanol, and other exciting things)

watched the squirrels caper in an adjacent citrus orchard, checked out the birds (Kiskidees, Grackles, Toucans, and Mot-Mots) for a while....

tap tap tap... waiting for the Mennonite repair-guy to zip over to the capitol on his trusty motorcycle...

finally... (picture THIS, Momma!) I fell fast asleep, curled up on them LUMPY sacks of feed in the pick-up bed.

I woke up achy, and b&tchy, and greeted DH with some distinctly unfriendly words, when he returned with snackies (doesn't he know what flavors I like by NOW ??)

so, ya see, despite my best intentions, I can still be a GRUMPUS-McDumpus when the occasion merits it.

:D:cool::D

Morning all! I have plans to rip into my kitchen table today. I also need to get our Sunday best outfits out of the closet for the wedding tomorrow.

Frank, my cousin will rip me a new one if he heard I am the reason he didn't get his balls. lmao I am fine, don't worry about me. Sometimes us caregivers just need a few days to recoup.

Have a good day everyone.

It is all his fault! Doesn't he know by now that we caregivers need down time here and there just like they do? Sheesh, pat his head for me and tell him to take a pill. :D

Wednesday is fine for us. :D

Feeling a bit better today. Been working on a website, so could do something while semi out of commission.

Renee, hope you feel better soon.

Sandy, have fun at the wedding tomorrow. So awesome to hear about your mom.

Debbie D, I think everyone with an autoinject has managed to squirt the med all over the place at least once. ;) I know I did. :D

Frank, sorry to hear about the internet outage. Hope things are going well in your neck of the woods.

Tami, love the to-do list. :D

Kay, enjoy the nap. Hope the rest helps.
