oh, then you'll like this one, Kell...

I heard Moe *hissing* up a storm at my screen door this morning, so I ran to see what was going on.

there was my kitty, on the other side of the screen door, hissing right back, with her TAIL straight UP, and her fur all sticking out.

I nearly split a gut laughing.

oh, I was tempted to open the door, just to see who would back down first, but then my good sense kicked in, and I decided that might just be a BAD idea.

see, it's mating season, and my goosies are kind of acting strangely.

oh, and the turkey babies are hatching!

I counted NINE little ones running around, before I headed out to run errands all day.

Weave, congrats... we just KNEW you could do it! and you sure do deserve some good news... and DON'T let him take your paycheck, you deserve THAT too, honey !!!

NaeNae, get some sleep, and stay outta the hospital, there's some DARNED strange germs in there, girlfriend!

San, slow down, you make me dizzy, ya whirlin' dervish!

Sarah, ouch ouch ouch, I detest getting squooshed... glad you made it through okay... and hope you get rid of the creeping crud-bug soon, it's sooooooooooo hard being sick, *and* working, *and* parenting, all at once... don't forget to pamper yourself a little, okay?

Trish, my kidlets think I'm pretty funny on meds too. I babble up a storm, because I'm such a lightweight...

Kell, glad to hear you're on the mend, mah cousin!

Barb, cog-fog blows, especially because I distinctly remember being intelligent in a former life, handling multifarious details, never missing a step, multitasking, and *certainly* never making mistakes, nor spelling anything incorrectly...

of all the things I've lost, I miss my MIND the most!!

hey, y'all, don't worry about sending out search parties for lil Kay, she's ay-oh-kay!

we have a couple from Washington state staying with us, they just bought land nearby, and are using our contractor to build their jungle abode... so we've been giving them all the benefits of our experiences, and building tips, and important contacts, and guidance...

plus, our pig is pregnant, and needed pen modifications for the upcoming litter's safety (Mama Becky Bacon weighs in at over 300 lbs, don't want her to *squoosh* the babies!)

plus, we have two geese about to start their once-a-year egg laying, and they need nestboxes built, and boxes for two dozen ducks...

plus, cage-cleaning, and guinea-pig shuffling, got FIVE preggers does about to kit... and needed nice new separate birthing rooms for them.

plus, BIG DAY TODAY, feed run over to the Mennonite village, for about 1,000 lbs of corn, milo, pellets, and scratch grains... and raiding the giant wheelbarrow at the produce store for goodies, oh, SCORE !!!

I got sacks and sacks of cabbage leaves, overripe melons, tomatoes, beet greens, lettuce leaves, broccoli stems, cauliflower leaves, bags of expired masa (corn tortilla paste) oh, a veritable BONANZA of yummy loot...

it's sooooooooooo funny, when we pulled into our driveway, there were 100 birds waiting anxiously for our arrival, lined up under the mango trees, licking their chops.

and so, the animals had a festive party, then, we had dinner, watched a movie, and I'm JUST now finished catching up on this thread, and chiming in.

ah, Cousin Kell... that was the proud (credit-grabbing!) "editorial we" that I used above.

DH cooked dinner, and downloaded the movie (a geek-chef, oh MY, how did I get so lucky?)

and the nestboxes, all I did was HELP, he did the actual construction.

("It's Shayke 'n' Bayke, an' Ah hayalped!")

and he did all the driving for the feed run too, I was just a passenger, along for the ride (oooh, he's a chauffeur too, hooray!).

however, I DID spend an hour picking through the veggie-basura (garbage), and sorting it into 50 lb sacks... thankfully, the Mennonites are kind, and provide a chair for me while I work over their produce-room wheelbarrows.

I did that while DH shopped, as I have difficulty standing and walking around stores for more than about 10 minutes.

and the insight-sharing with the new immigrants was all done while ensconced comfortably in well-padded bamboo chairs, sipping iced limonade...

I also did the cage-cleaning, and guinea-pig shuffling, as DH doesn't know who's who, and hilariously thinks the embarazada ladies are just a wee bit corpulent...

I do the cage-cleaning perched on a barstool, and fill a wheelbarrow, which he trundles over to the composting hutch.

we make a good team... I turn the empty feed bins sideways, and when I come back, they're magically filled with corn, pellets, and grains...

it's the ideal relationship for me, think of me as a movie director sitting in a chair, being the decider... since our only income is my SSDI, I get to be gloriously in charge...

but didja notice, I get the *****-detail, and the garbage-sorting?

my cog-fog DID kick in yesterday, and DH has to go BACK to the Mennonite enclave this morning (he's leaving now) because I forgot the bunny pellets, and the measurements of the bodega mud-grate... AND forgot my to-do list, so we didn't pick up our 15 gallons of bottled drinking water, nor remember to stop at the doctor's office to check on the import status of the Baclofen.

but I'm sooooooooooooooooooo wiped out from yesterday, that I can't go today... my left leg is spazzing to beat the band, and my sinuses are full again (yuck!)

and Kell, remember, I can ONLY do that kind of long day during the winter... DH gets to go solo during the heat of spring.

Kay - Glad to hear you are ok. Thanks for posting. I figured you were just a busy bee (as usual). You amaze me too as well as inspire me to keep doing things as much as I can.

Renee - Saying some prayers for you that you are feeling better today.

Sarah - I am glad things went well at the smasher yesterday. I hope the dr can give you some answers today on the tests as well as give you something to help with whatever it is you have. Please update us after your appointment.

Kelly - Hope the weather starts being kinder to you. It could also be that you just had some sort of cold and you are just getting over it. Hoping your legs are better today.

Hi to everyone else. I hope you are all doing well.

Update: I have to get my geek on today. Last night my monitor decided to freak and go out. I checked all connections and still, nothing. Today I will be working on it to see if I can get it to work. If not, I am hoping my brother has an extra monitor I can use. (He is a computer geek and has spare parts laying around).

I am hoping that it is not the computer that's the problem. (Which I doubt as the darn thing was freaking out when the computer was off).

I hope I don't get any dictation as that would not be good. In addition, I was in the middle of printing the Christmas cards that artist wanted as well as my own. I really need to get it fixed.

Thanks again for all the congrats on my new job. I'm still wearing yesterday's silly grin. Even DH's wrath last night due to fetching the buried Christmas decor in the attic couldn't wipe away the grin. And believe me he tried really hard to do just that.

So after too many years of not using it I finally have the big tree up again. Boy did I ever miss that beauty. Eight or so feet of lush greenery wrapped in hundreds of clear lights, draped with lots of iridescent clear bead garland, sprinkled with white crocheted snowflakes, and a white snow angel perched on top. Today I'll put the medium tree up, find places for the greenery garland I got years ago and never had a clean enough house to use (till now), and add the greenery swags to my outdoor decor.

Housework awaits as always. Gentle healing hugs to those not feeling good today.

Aren't computer geeks great? LOL, I am biased since I married one.

Morning all. Trying to wake up, sipping my coffee. So far the plans are to slow cook a roast, and take a nap if I need to a little later on. Gotta get my game on for the preview show tonight, so will listen and not push (like I did yesterday, lol).

I like my GI doc so far. I had a cog fog at the office (they gave me a lot of stuff to bring home), and I accidentally left the prescription of an anti-spasmatic med she had prescribed for me. Unlike any other office, which would've called and asked me to come back in to pick it up, Got it in the mail. I looked at it and went "d'oh"

~~~~~~~~
Renee, hope you feel better soon.
Sandy, Barb, and Frank & Deb, Thanks for the holiday cards.
Kay, my geek chef has taken over the holiday menu. I'm in charge of the sweets, but other than that - he has declared the kitchen his for the holiday. Kinda neat to see since he is good at cooking. learned from his mom.
Glad to hear you're doing well, and so are your animals. too cool to hear that the animals are thriving.
Trish, hope you can either get monitor fixed or replaced soon.
Sarah, glad the test didn't go too badly. Hope the results come out good.
Everyone,
TGIF! IT IS THE LAST DAY OF CLASSES!!! I am sitting in my office listening to XMAS carols and working on my course syllabi for next semester. We got a light dusting of snow so it looks pretty. We have a department potluck at noon, and then I have a meeting at 2:00. Can you believe the Dean scheduled a meeting on the last day of classes? I guess I shouldn't skip that one.
Renee , Sending out prayers that you recover quickly.
Kelly, This weather is making my leg stiffer too.
Kay, Glad you are ok.
Where's Frank?
Debbie D, I read your other thread about copaxone and "witchiness." Hope you are feeling better soon. I would guess it is the 'roids causing your grouchiness. Are you getting enough sleep?
Hi to everyone else! Hope you have a good weekend!
