OY, I have Goody's in the cabinet. They ARE nasty... ugh! I follow it up with oj.

Steep a teabag and put that on an abcessed tooth.

Put bay leaves in your flour, rice and pasta to keep bugs out.

Any home remedies for a stye?

Lil'Monkey woke up with one in her upper eyelid. It's all swollen. No basketball practise today. She is freaking out. School starts back Monday. She has a warm wash cloth in it now.

Teabag steeped in warm water. Keep heating it up when it gets cool. I usually keep a cup of water next to me and dip and wring and apply repeatedly.

Hope that helps her!

TY RW.

She kept putting a warm wash cloth on it. I also had her use baby shampoo to clean around her eyes. I found that on a medical site.

She isn't always the best at getting mascara off. This helped a bunch. The swelling is way down. Boy did it look like she got punch in the eye. Wasn't me, I swear, I only sock hubby.

I'll have her try some camamile tea bags tonight.

Warm milk. Works even for pink eye.

I used it on my dog the other day, he must have gotten something in there out in the wind. Big buggy eyes of his.

I use plain ol' lotion to get mascara off. A little on tissue.

I'd keep an eye on it, curious.

Personally, I wouldn't let her touch it too much with either fingers or anything else except a hot compress and I'd dispose of the compress carefully.

Usually they'll get better in a few days but if not, a doctor should really have a look at it. They are usually caused by staphylococcal bacteria and are infectious.

:D She hasn't been too happy about not wearing eye makeup, but I refuse to let her. Awwww....poor baby. :D She sure has gone through the lip gloss.

Just a teeny lump still there. Swelling is gone. You can't even see the lump, just feel it. It's not bothering her at all. Well, a little watering, but she has packs of Kleenex with her at school.

I warned her about keeping her hands away from her face. Tossing the Kleenex away and using hand sanitizer.

She has some performances coming up. She does not want it swelling up again or getting another one. She has to wear makeup for those.

I bleached the crap out of the wash rags she used.

I have been OCD about cleaning any surface she may have touched. Every doorknob is sparkeling clean. :p

lol, I so totally understand that last comment.

Just tell her that sometimes we can make adjustments.

If it's all heavy eye makeup, then go easy on the lips, and if it's no eye make up then go a little heavier on the cheekbones and the lips. :icon_biggrin:

braingonebad 01-09-2009 01:24 AM

Also, you might wanna chuck her eye make up and buy new, just in case it's infected. Ew. Hope she's all cleared up soon.
