Default Sprained my ankle today....

Hi everyone,

Today while i was going down the stairs i missed the last step..again... and twisted my ankle!! Went down like a tonne of bricks.

This is the same foot i broke two years ago... so i iced it and PRAYED that it wasn't broke.

Haylee is having her b-day party this weekend, and i'm still not done shopping.

Its swollen and bruised a bit, i still had to pick her up at school so i hobbled with my fashionable pink acrylic cane... lol

Hubby came home took one look at my foot and brought me to ER.

ER doc had it x-rayed at its not broke... he said just to ice it and not to wrap it because he said they don't recommend that anymore.

He said to start walking on it when i'm able.

I'm so relieved its not broke...

Cindy I'm so sorry! That must be so painful. I'm glad it's not broken, though. Let everyone help as much as they will......you have a reason to stay seated!!

I hope the b-day party is good. Maybe by the weekend it'll be much better.

Take care of yourself!

I know how painful sprains can be. When I sprained mine the ER doc said sometimes it's better if it is broke. Just try not to over due it because sprains take a long time to heal. I hope the birthday party is a huge success

Very good advice. Sprains do take longer to heal than if it had been broke. I did a number on my foot two years ago.

Lots of deep tissue damage, ligaments, sprain, etc. The foot was black and swollen. It didn't look like a foot. I couldn't get up and hobble away as I could any other time. I kept in touch with Urgent Care, etc. and was doing everything I should. I got into my high top shoes as soon as I could as well. They said that was as good as a boot deal they would have done. I couldn't have handled the boot deal either.

I used a walker for six weeks to keep the weight off of my foot. I cannot use crutches. Then I got rid of the walker and used a cane and my husband's arm for awhile. They said it would take a long time and believe me it did.

Any other time I've sprained my foot, I have been able to get up and hobble away and it was fine enough to walk on, etc. But not this time. Never want to do that again, ever.

I believe now I have some osteoarthritis in there. It would be funny if I didn't. Take care of your foot.

Thanks,

This is Haylee's first party since going back to school so she is really excited.

At least I'm done shopping for her presents, its just the loot back stuff.

It seemed like my foot hurt less after I broke it, i mean once they set it it stopped throbbing after a few hours and a few pain meds....

My next house will have NO STAIRS!!

I'm such a klutz....lol

Ewe, I hate when that happens! Glad it's not broken but remember that a sprain can take longer than a break. Be careful, ya' little ballerina!

A house with no stairs -- I just moved into one! It would have been nice a year ago when I was on crutches with a broken ankle, lol!

Take it easy on that injured limb.

ouch...that stinks....I think alot of times that sprains can be much worse
than breaks......they can hurt a heck of alot more too!

I hope you heal quickly!!! Happy Birthday to Haylee, I hope she has
fun at her party!!
