Hubby likes it cold. He is used to being in the gym with air going full blast. I keep it set at 80. Most days don't even turn it on. It's cooled off by the time he gets home, then I turn it on if needed. Unit doesn't have to work to hard to lower it just a few degrees.

Plus with the kids going down to the pool..coming in al hot, not a good idea to have it too cool. Too much of a change.

I do love the low electric bills.

From April through early June it is set at 75. By mid June through September it is usually down to 72. We have 7 ceiling fans throughout the house that pretty much run 24/7 year round. We just change the direction when switching from heating to cooling. We also run a dehumidifier in the bathroom to cut down on humidity in the house.

If I'm sittin' around the house doing nothing, I can leave it at 75 or so. Any meaningful movement, it's set at 70, sometimes 68. I can't take heat at all anymore...

Actually this is the first one I've ever had in my entire life. It's in my bedroom too but I can't even sleep with it running.

You wouldn't need one for long down there would you?

You must have a fireplace or heating though? brrrrrrrrr

I did Kitty, but as Lara so rightly said, the state I live in at the moment is much cooler than all the others here in Oz.

We had the gas man in today to replace the gas cylinders for our heater, but do you think the heater will work tonight, even with full gas cylinders??
No way!

Oh well, looks like tomorrow we get the heater man out to check the heater.....

Our latest stimulus package won't last long the way we're going!

.........

BTW and totally off topic ...... I dyed my hair today.
.....................
Does that mean I have to start a whole new thread??

Nah.......not unless you want to start a new thread about hair color! I colored my hair, too, but it was on Monday.

What color did you use?
