Yes, we have a little generator. 2500w.
We don't use it for much tho...running a generator day and night eats gasoline and makes alot of noise/fumes. And chemical fumes set off my asthma. We do use it for lighting in late August when it starts getting dark earlier. In fact this article, I can't resist posting it... as a send off is quite alarming about nanoparticles in the air we breathe setting off plaque in blood vessels, heart attacks/strokes etc. http://sciencenews.org/view/feature/...tle/Bad_Breath I used to work in a building that was along a freeway. We often would get diesel fumes sucked into the airshafts if a truck parked close to it. (sometimes the fire trucks would check the hydrants and park idling for more than an hour)... the diesel fumes were pungent and longlasting! And just as I was retiring...that last year alone we had a cluster of 4 heart attacks/stroke all of a sudden! 3 of them in people under 50. One gal was 33, one gal 47 (stroke), the lone guy died --he was 47, and the computer gal had one but CPR saved her. I was getting really spooked, and began to think we had dirty building syndrome or something. Now I think this risk factor of dirty air may have been to blame! So using a generator will not be high on my list this summer! LOL Our regular size propane frig is back in the storehouse/shed. Not in our home. We do have a little trailer size one in the kitchen tho. I wonder how much nano-particles it puts out? hmmmm? One of the most restorative parts of taking a vacation like this is the CLEAN air we have. Now, to go find a good spot on NT to put up this article so it is not lost.

This information is rather new... while pollution is known to
cause human illness...the extent of it, and type was unclear...this new "invisible" stuff is pretty scary. And you cannot escape it. Here the drug companies are cleaning up money wise for useless drugs like statins, when all along the risks are the air we breathe, and can't escape. I always sleep well up there too. I just hope we don't freeze. This morning our heat came on here! (and we have turned the thermostat down too!) Wish I had some of that Florida warmth today! Normally when we leave it is so hot we can barely climb the stairs and go up and down to pack the cars. We live on a hill..and during the hot months it can be very humid and uncomfortable. But this weather is perfect for packing the cars!

so far no pics yet...
It has been rainy/cold dreary everyday. Today it was sunny.... "claps hands".... Yesterday during the fog... a doe of ours swam over with 2 little fawns....it was wonderful to see. Our first wonderful event. We are running my hubby's work computer on a G card...and the generator...as an experiment. So far so good. We can only get 2G coverage...it is slow. Lots of pop ups with security stuff that slows us down. I tried the laundromat the other day, with the other laptop and it wasn't too fruitful. His battery on this unit is short lived. I hope the summer pans out better than so far. We are coming home earlier...because I really can't handle being alone while he goes home to work this summer. We have had 3 mechanical failures with frig/boats...so I don't want to stay alone this year....I am too old for this. DUH.... So we will probably be home before Labor Day... The weather is soooooo cool and wet.... it is not fun at all!

Well we are back today!
And were greeted with more cold rain! (this year I feel like that Mr. @#$%^ from the old Lil' Abner cartoons. Anyone remember him? He walked around with a gray cloud that rained only on HIM. But at least I have my old trusty computer back. And Sheba did not die! (I worry about her and the trip etc, she being 23 now!) At least it wasn't windy or raining when I left up there today. (it was cold however!)
