Thank you you guys! You were very helpful!

Janke..what did you mean by "truely UI" or "truely SSDI". Gotcha as far as the local office backlog thing. Thank you! It is SDDI, not SSI. Again, thank you so much!

SSDI not SSI which you clarified.

Unemployment not state disability (or another name for a public disability benefit). In California, the EDD pays out both unemployment and state disability benefits. SDI offsets SSDI, UI does not.

Cb,

That means you are fine with Unemployment Insurance as far as SSDI offsets. It's only a problem when you are collecting a public disability insurance (which you were not)

Hope that helps.....

SSDI doesn't payback unemployment, only public disability benefits (or like in my case, with collecting WC benefits, my backpay and ongoing benefits were cut to reflect the fact that I was also getting WC)

Based on the info you have provided, your whole backpay should be yours.

Holy cow, I think I am going to cry--I am crying...I pray that is what happens....I will be able to pay off my debt. I can send my 4 year old to preschool. I don't know what to do with myself. We can get an air conditioner because we will be able to afford it. I don't know--I am beside myself. I better not get too over excited just in case. My husband lost his job while on workers comp, he is still on workers comp, but i don't know if he will be bale to file for UI when he recovers..this would be back up in case he can not collect UI.
Thank you!
