Default How does unemployment comp affect SSDI?

My wife has been on short term disability since July. She recently missed a deadline to contact her employer (every 30 days), they terminated her for job abandonment. She is considering unemployment. Is this feasible? How will it affect her app.? We are at the 2nd review waiting to hear back. Thanks.

You can't receive both disablity and unemployment at the same time, at least that is what I was told. You may want to check with the agencies though.

Default unenemployment

I figured it out, unemployment comp. is to help you get back to work and it requires that you actively seek out employment. Soo there ya go.

Yes true. But being on unemployment will not effect the outcome of the decisiion on your social security disabilty claim. I was on unemployment when i received my award letter. The week I received my award letter was the same week i stopped collecting benefits. I wonder what would have happened to i kept on collecting unemployment while recieving SSDI>?

In the state of MD, you would just have to pay back the amount of unemployment benefits you received after you were approved for SSDI. I don't know how it works in other states.
