Default Contiuing Disablity Review

Hi,
I just became eligable for social security on September 3, 2010. On my award letter it states that I will be reviewed every 3 years. Does anyone know if that is correct? Does SS pretty much stick to what they say or will they review me earlier.

How long did it take for you to get your first review?
Was it what you were expecting?

It's usually longer than what they say. I haven't been reviewed yet. Suppose to be 5-7 yrs. Make sure you take your meds and see your doctor(s) that are treating you, regularly.

I was approved in March of this year. My award letter said my review won't be for another 5 to 7 years. I continue to see my doctor monthly and I am taking my meds as directed which has never been a problem for me since I know that without my meds I would probably be in the hospital or in some mental institution.

Do people on SSI get reviewed in the same matter as SSDI?

My SSDI approval letter from May 2010 says that I will be reviewed in 5-7. I see my psychiatrist regularly and stay on my meds. Does anyone know what the SSDI review process consists of?

Its suppose too be a 6 question questionare. I've read here that people are being asked to come in to their local SS office for a review. What up with that? Does that count as a regular review or is this something new. Will everyone have to report or is this for the people who get reviewed every few yrs?

My letter also states that my review will be every 3 years. I have heard from many people, including my psychiatrist, that they usually run behind..even up to a year behind. I am sure it is difffernt in every county.

I have been on SSDI for a few years and don't know when it said my review would be, was it on a separate paper or the long letter with about twenty pages explaining the reasoning for my award. Mine was awarded after seeing the Judge. Thank for your insight.
