Thanks Janke. Your posts are always so helpful and informative. This is what I plan to do tomorrow morning. I will update once I get back.

Don't know your local office schedule, but perhaps showing up when they open on Monday with every single piece of paper that you have that proves what was said on the application plus proof of your disconnect notices and a willingness to sit there all day until someone can fit you in to their interview schedule may work. But the interview needs to be completed. The documents need to be submitted. You need to answer questions. The employee needs time to devote to the claim.

Default Update!

Update: Ok, I spent ALL DAY in the SSA office today. But I knew that I may have to do that (Thanks Janke)[so I took reading material. It was hard to be in there around all those people but I did it and had to keep telling myself that I HAD to do it.

I was able to get the interview right before closing time and I thanked the rep for squeezing me in. My local office said they dont do "emergency payments" but she said she could get me a check in 7-10 (or she may have said 5-10) days. Well, thats better than 6 weeks I guess. At least I know its on the way. Thanks to Janke and all that gave me advice!
