Good day all, wondering what everyone does with their day now that we don't work anymore? My day starts @ 5:00 am, I begin with feeding my 2 kittys to ease all the mews lol, then bacon or sausage or peameal goes in the pan whichever the hubby prefers that morning, as this cooks I make us coffee and sit with hubby and news for 20 mins, then back to kitchen to prepare the french toast/eggs/pancakes again his choice, I then pack his lunch and a coffee to go, its now 6:30am and now its me with 2 kittys for the day, another coffee-then breakfast dishes-dusting-and wipe down bathroom-1-2 hour nap(I don't sleep well)then make my bed.
Then if my hubby took down any laundry I will wash/dry and have folded so all he has to do is bring it up and we both put it away whens he's home. Its now a little after lunch and I try to do 30 mins on my treadmill or a walk if its a nice day, shower, go do the little shopping I can handle and then maybe lay down again for a bit if needed, then get ready for hubby to get home @ 4:00, we then prepare dinner,(hubby will run vac if needed) do dishes, watch a hockey game(go SENATORS lol) then bedtime. I have disabilities but I want to accomplish something with my day and put this pain on a backburner and not let it control me(very difficult some days)! I miss human interaction everyone still works I'm the first one in our group of friends retired @ 50. I'm fighting that depression thing that goes with chronic pain and we all know this pain thing can really get us down wears on the nerves after a while! Sorry for long post folks, I'm feeling the blues this am and missing people! Enjoy the day all! Bunz

I'm painting, started with watercolors, then got some pastels and then acrylic paints. I did take art classes in high school and enjoyed it.
Plus our public tv station has been having various painting shows on regularly, so that's what got me picking up the paints again. If you have any crafts, sewing or hobbies that you used to do, maybe one of them will fill the bill. My mom makes baby quilts and donates them to charities.

It is also awesome that your Mom makes baby quilts, good for her! I use to crochet, I guess I could give it a try again, only problem is most of the time my hands are numb and tingling, but I do recall once I had a finished project it was a good feeling, that was so long ago. Thanks again Jo*mar you have given me something to think about ![]() Bunz

I volunteer my time at one of my local hospitals rocking & soothing newborns (drug addicted & premies).
Read real paper books. Not into e-books. I'm too old school in my ways. ![]() Start a project. My current one is making a rubberband ball. This one I started Thanksgiving-2011. ![]() I use to crochet & knit when I was in the "Rat Race." I made so many afghans, hats & scraves as holiday gifts that if I start crocheting and/or knitting again, my family would run for the hills. ![]() I am currently looking into needle point or hook rugging to take the place of crocheting & knitting. |

It's just me. Thankfully, I have no "hubby" to cook for or clean up after. I really enjoy cooking for myself -- what I want and when I want -- and I've made a hobby of creating healthy recipes and incorporating beneficial herbs and veggies into my meals. I grow herbs and produce, too, if it isn't a drought year.
Quite honestly, my health care takes up a LOT of time. Take this week, for example -- I spent half of the day today at the surgical center having a guided injection of my hip. Tomorrow, I'm having two spine MRIs. On Wednesday, I have an appointment with a spine specialist. I cycle in and out of physical therapy, too. Next week, I see my gastro-enterologist and orthopedic surgeon. I tire easily and have to take a nap most days. I do some form of exercise every day, either yoga or my recumbent bike, but it hasn't helped my energy level, unfortunately. |
