Checked my bank account today and seen it had allot more in it than it should have. got my ssd first time around. RSD and depression. took 3 months.

It sounds like you 'get' how lucky that quick decision was too. I'm RSD and depression (and TOS/fibro/occipital neuralgia/djd/recurrent bilateral hip bursitis/recurrent bilateral knee and elbow tendonitis/arthritis/high blood pressure/diabetes/blah, blah, blah tto).....and it took me 3 years with a lawyer and WC saying that I couldn't work.

It's rough to be in this position looking at lifelong disability and worrying about effective pain management, but at least having SOME financial dependability (if not full stability.....it's never enough and we still have to worry about the SSA's solvency) is one less thing to worry about. That's a relief.

55 next week.
I know that for most of us it is a struggle to get this. I feel very grateful to be getting it. I have been on WC for 4 yrs and just filed due to being told after 5 yrs no work then benefit starts going down. So I filed in Sept and had to go see a SSD Doc for the depression in Dec. needless to say I wasn't expecting the money or approval this quickly.
I have been wanting to settle the comp claim and wanted it done before this went thru. now Medicare will be involved in the set aside $$ for future care. This set aside would have been my an lawyers best faith estimate, now its up to medicare to tell the WC people how much they will pay me for that part of my claim.Could be ALLOT more than I was going to demand, or maybe less who knows now.

Was depression your main impairment, and was the grid rules for 55-59 used in your case, did your attorney do an otr?

no idea what the grid rule or otr is.
