Hello all,
I am on SSDI and i am in grad school. I got accommodations to help me such as note-taker in all my classes, double time on exams, use of a computer for exams and alt location to take exams. As a undergrad I "worked" in student government making 350 a month I only worked 3 hours a week and could make my own schedule each week. Sometimes I did not show up because of school work. I got accommodations doing this because i went through the disability office. It was a student run office so their were no bosses. lol I even got paid for the summer and was not their. My question is when my CDR comes up will this hurt me? Or am i worrying about nothing? I have PDD a form of autism NF1 and learning disability. I have three doctors which I see every 8 months. |

If you are working or attending school, anticipate that you'll receive the long form after doing the short form.
You are supposed to notify SS if you perform any work as well, so I wouldn't wait for the CDR to to do so. |

I assume that some day you do intend to work so it is important that you understand work incentives and reporting responsibilities. |

But the letter they sent back said they may do a medical review. But I heard all letters say that. I am not so worried about the review. I may be in grad school but still get tons of accommodations such as note taker, double time on exams and use of computer for exams and a spell check device

Yes Will the fact that you used two months of a trial work period automatically mean that you will be ceased due to medical recovery on a CDR? No. Is SSI and SSDI a guaranteed income for life? No. Are you going to be ceased or continued on a CDR? I don't know. These are my best answers. I suggest focusing on those things in your control like doing the best you can in school and figuring out how to move into the work force some day. |
