how quick someone gets a decision depends on a lot of factors. you must keep in mind that the ssa denies 75% of all claims, therefore, you can expect to be denied then have to appeal. if you are waiting for a hearing, it can take 3-12 months to get a hearing date. that is normal and your case will not be moved up unless you're terminal - and then they don't move real quickly. a lot of people like to think that their disability situation is unlike everyone else and it's not for the most part. everyone has to wait their turn. *edit*
