Here.....or in the history of the SSA ?

My sil got her approval about 1 month after she applied. She was a true warrior who continued to work for a year after her dx with stage IV breast cancer with mets to the liver. After multiple rounds of chemo and her second brain surgery for further mets to the brain, she had to stop working. She passed away last summer.

My approval took 3 years. I didn't start the process until I had already been unable to work for over a year because I was hopeful that treatment might have helped me.

I know of a case in which the SSI application was submitted on a Monday, a presumptive SSI approval was input on Tuesday, a final award was made on Thursday. First check arrived the first day of the next month.

Why were you denied for SSI? Assets too high, or you weren't found to be disabled per SS rules?
