OK so here is what is going on. I applied for Disability back in December 2013. Received a Denial Letter in May, I appealed it. However since then, I have seen numerous doctors and got more intriguing information about my medical issues.

First applied for bulging disc in back, pain in legs, I have recently found out from Several Medical test, Being poked and proded for the past 3 months, I have Type 2 Diabeties, and Peripheral Neuropathy in the sensory and Autonomic Nerves in Both legs, Feet and Lower back. Which explains all the pain, The Constant burning, the swelling in legs and feet. I can not even stand for more then 10 minutes without my feet feeling like they are on fire and Swelling up twice the size they normally Are. My Jobs for the past 4 years a Chef in a busy Steak House. I can hardly do my job when I can't stand for more then 10 minutes without excruciating pain. Not to mention the medication and How darn Tired it makes me.

Also found out 2 months ago Have Carpal Tunnel In Both wrist, Right being worse than Left and I am right handed. Was given braces to wear on both wrist/hands. Can't hardly do what I use to do with those darn things on either.

I am hoping With all this new found evidence I can be approved. I can not find a job that is flexible enough to allow me to go to all my Doctor appts, Like 4 a month, and Allow me to rest when needed. I even applied at McDonalds and Burger King can't do it.

Has anyone out there had this Issue as Well?

A good place to start is to read through the sticky "Don't start your claim unprepared" at the top of this forum.

The standard for approval is that you're unable to perform any job, not just your former job. Can you do a job that does not require standing? Also, you say you're unable to stand for more than ten minutes, but has one of your doctors documented that (along with any other functional limitations)?

Just to clarify it was SSI not SSDI you applied for? You didn't really make it clear when you stopped working?

I applied for SSDI, sorry thought I put that in there. And yes I wear a brace on Both wrist/hands for Carpal Tunnel now, and Was recently refereed to go see a Rheumatologist because I had to have an MRI done on both of knee's and The bones and tendons are good however there were abnormalities within the Joint itself, Nothing can fix with surgery I guess from what I gathered, My Neurologist Has given me strict instructions to limit standing, bending, sitting, laying for any amount of time because it causes my legs, ankles and feet to swell to twice the size they normally are. He is trying a new medication to see how it helps, and Its also for periodic Leg Movement syndrome during sleep. Awaiting my Appt. for a Sleep study Cause of Sleep apnea, Night Terrors and The PLM.

As for Work, Only other two jobs I've had besides a Chef, well one was waitress and I just can not do that anymore because of my wrist (no strength to carry the trays), feet and legs, and I worked for The Sheriff's office as a Detention officer for 10 years, Which I am not able to do anymore. When I first applied I did not know about the Peripheral Neuropathy of Type 2 Diabetes. I knew about the Carpal Tunnel but had not undergone the nerve Induction test, which they have done now On my Entire Body. I also hadn't seen my Pain management doctor either at the time only been refered to her, and Now I've seen her quite a few times. So there is a ton more Documentation they Do now have that they didn't before.
