i just turned 62, i am on ssdi : will i be automatically switched to retirement based social security , or do i have to tell social security ? thanks

SS will switch you automatically at your full retirement age. There's nothing you need to do.

The amount changes/increases according to the yearly COLA.

Earlier this year, I got the same letter but asking this time if I still wanted the SSDI "retirement" amount. I am assuming I will be getting the same letter confirming the amt I want until 2016 which is the year I turn 66 my full retirement age.
