Default distraught

Initally applied for disability 8-04.After denial obtained an attorney jan 05.
Appeal was denied. Now I have been waiting for my "day in front of the judge"!
And What A Wait It Has Been!
It is so frustrating.Called the lawyer today and was told how back logged the office of appeals are in Atlanta GA.That the Government is under staffed etc.

Write my senator...complain to political officals...was the advise I recieved.
Then decided to call the office of appeals. Was indeed told how far they are behind.Just now looking at claims submitted in 04.
Was told the only way to expedite the process is to obtain
A letter from my DR stating my condition is Critical.Or....
Send financial documents such as forclosure...

My claim according to them would "probably" be looked at otherwise in 9 months.
I am just at my wits end.Why does this process take so long for people in need?I did pay into the system for years. Now I am failed by the same system.
Any advise? Izzy
