Default Hubby Approved

My hubby has worked so hard for over 20 years in heavy construction. He had colorectal cancer surgery almost 2 years ago. Was treated and worked right through the chemo. What a trooper. BUT....it finally caught up with him. Just couldn't do it anymore. Applied in January for disability. Has been out of work since then. Received his approval letter today. He is so relieved. As some of you know...this was SO HARD for him to do.

I am relieved. With my MS, I am really needing to cut back on work as well. Now we feel financially like this is more feasible. Just had to share the good news with folks who really understand! Thanks NT buddies for listening!

Awww, we are so happy for you! Well, not happy for the why of it all, but happy that you can now consider your options. I remember when my hubby went on disability and we had to wait three months to see any money. It is such a relief to finally get back on track. Hugs.

I just knew there woudl be people here who really understand! I know you can identify... yes, it is a beginning, in a way, to get started on the next chapter of life.

It's funny how our story is NOT turning out the way we thought it would when I life together began. But... we are determined that it will still be happy and trying to just roll with the punches. That is all we can do! So trying to do it in the best way possible.

Thanks!

That's right! I swear I think those of us who make it through life's punches should offer marriage counseling to newlyweds! lol

Friend I'm so glad the approval finally happened. I'm just beginning the adventure myself so I'm sure I'll have plenty to write about in the coming months! It's hard to admit that "the time" has come but I have and now I just want to get this over and done with.

I hope this will provide you with the ability to cut back on your hours some. I know how hard it is to have MS and try to work.

Kelly

kudos to your hubby for managing to work all the way through chemo and afterwards!

but I totally understand when that point comes, and you just can't keep on keepin' on.

there's a song I kept singing while I was waiting, and waiting for my SSDI to kick in:

The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part...

(Tom Petty - The Waiting)

glad he finally got his approval letter!

Happy for you, too, that you finally made it through that waiting period. Thank you for sharing your song. I can see how that was comforting to you.
Have a good week!
