Any help will be appreciated. Like, what types of symptoms would someone with this result have? Like pain in the back during flexion, extension, rotation? Pain in the legs/buttox/thighs?
FINDINGS: Normal marrow signal is demonstrated throughout the regional bones. The intervertebral disc spaces are fairly well-maintained. Vertebral stature is preserved No spondylitic or degenerative endplate changes are appreciated. There is no evidence of disc dessication. The conus medullaris is normal in appearance. There is no evidence of disc herniation. There is no evidence of circumferential canal stenosis. The L1-2 and L2-3 are unremarkable. There is a bulging annulus at L3-L4 with compression on the thecal sac. There is a broad-based bulging annulus at L4-L5 with compression on the anterior aspect of the thecal sac. The level of L5-S1 is unremarkable. The nerve roots of the cauda equina are normal in appearance without evidence of thickening or clumping. The facet joints are unremarkable. IMPRESSION: 1. There is a bulging annulus at L3-L4 with compression on the thecal sac. 2. There is a broad-based bulging annulus at L4-L5 with compression the the anterior aspect of the thecal sac. |

Hi ~ Actually, you have a pretty GOOD MRI! LOL However, the bulging discs CAN cause pain. You could have back pain along with some sciatica too (pain going down the leg & into the foot). You could possibly have spasms along with the pain, and some stiffness due to the pain. It would be good to do some gentle stretching in the morning before you get out of bed. That helps "warm up" the muscles, etc., so they aren't so stiff & sore.
The sciatica can cause pain in the hips & buttocks too. You might also have some tingling & burning-type pain. I sure hope you don't experience all these problems, but make sure you tell the doc if you do. I hope your pain is being treated. Best of luck & God bless! Hugs, Lee
