Other than OTC or strong pain meds, what else can work? I'm in so much pain and the more I use my arm the more it hurts. I have an 8 month old son who wants to be held and I hold him and play with him and protect him, but I am in sooo much pain.
It hurts to fold laundry, type, hold my son, wash dishes, grip items, etc Any ideas? Would immobilization help? I don't want to harm my muscles by not using them, but I need to get this pain to go away. Thanks |

You might try a sling or something similar, but then you wouldn't be able to pick up your son. Plus if you wear it too long, your muscles will weaken, and you don't want that.
It might be better to get some stronger medication, so that you CAN use the arm, and not feel so much pain. None of us likes taking strong meds, but some of us have to. I'm on some strong opiates, but they don't make me loopy cause I take them for severe pain! I guess when you take them for severe pain they don't effect the head -- I don't know. All I know is I don't get goofy on them. LOL It's worth a shot -- and if you DO get "weird" on them,, you'll know you can't take them. Best of luck & God bless. Hugs, Lee
