Hello all!!
I am new to this forum. I did have a 2 level decompression at my L4-5, L5-S1, with foramicotomies(sp) at both levels and Laminectomy at L5 in 2008. Been pretty good since then. 2 weekends ago I was playing baseball and collided with the 2nd baseman, I did notice back pain right-a-way , I gave it a couple days and went to see my Dr and he stated its just a ligament . This is my problem, the last 3 days I have had this UNRELENTING calf spasm in my left calf on the outside down to my ankle that almost wraps around my left foot. NOTHING I do will stop the spasm, when it FINALLY decides to stop, it's almost like my left foot doesn't want to work, for like 15-20mins it is 'locked' and I can't move it. I am wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen to them and if they did what was it , what could be causing it and what did they do to help/stop it?? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! I have this "locking" issue in ankle and calf and thigh area too and it's all worse for me since hip replacement surgery. Body is all changed. I've learned to wait and get things moving again. Magnesium is important for these issues in normal times and more in these times now.

Hi again, my daughter complains about major calf cramping and it comes to me more and more about the potassium deficiency that many of us could NOT be dealing with. I just posted a Potassium RDA on the vit/herb section here. I've been nagged by this potassium issue for a long long time. I take extra potassium but will be taking more daily. Now IF one can get it in foods, that's great, but I don't feel it's possible to get the daily RDA. And we're not going to get this info from conventional MD's.
