I have now been put on shots, 1000 per month. My b12 level has significantly increased to 1300 as of mid January. My doctor said to take the next shot in March and moving forward every other month.
My question is how long does the vitamin stay in your system? I've read up to 5 years in your liver. So wouldn't my level stay high for longer than a month? Is taking the shot in March too soon? Also, I have been continuing to improve my diet. Therefore, I have cut most meat (fish one time a week) at this point. So almost no b12 coming in through diet. I've cut out all supplementation other than the b12 shots too. Still taking metho folic acid 400 per day at this point. Number is up too in normal range now. |
