A friend and I work for a moving company, and my friend is trying to decide between surgery on the L-5 disc or going through decompresion with the DRX 9000 machine. We have read several posts about both topics, but cant find any compairing the two options. Any advice / opinions would be helpfull, trying to get as many thoughts as possible. At this stage we are just looking for thoughts on the separate procedures only.

I think the drx 9000 is a rip off. If you use the search button at the top of the page you can find many posts about this.
As far as surgery, have you tried all conservative efforts such as physical therapy, traction from a competent chiropractor (traction not adjustments). My husband and son also swear by their inversion machine. If after all that your friend is still hurting then sometimes surgery is the answer. There are many who have had relief from it. My self I am still using conservative measures like traction. ESI's and muscle relaxers. You just have to weigh the options and keep asking questions. Good luck to you...Sue
