I use facial toner on the area before putting them on, and paper tape on the edges also helps.

Med. or first aide tape helps, but that also wears/slips within hours. I've not had the patches adhere for more than 24 hours
![]() What I think could really help is like the pads that are used in OR for monitoring devices ![]() ![]()

I forgot to mention that I also use strips of Tegaderm to keep my Lidoderm patches in place. (Tegaderm is the clear tape-like substance that they put on top of an IV to keep it in place, another term for Tegaderm is bioclusive dressing).
I found a generic-type version of Tegadrem online from a company called "Invacare"... I bough the large version which comes in big pieces, and I cut the big pieces into little strips and place 2 strips on each side of the Lidoderm patches (total of 8 strips). It's hard to explain using just typed words... next time I use a Lido patch I can take a picture if that will help. Liz

Liz, I used the skin toner and paper tape this morning and it has helped so far.. If it wasn't for the tape it would have fallen off by now..
If I use the tegaderm for more than a day I start to get water blisters under it, but I never thought of cutting it into strips and since it is on for 12 hours it may work ok.. If you think of it send some pictures.. In the mean time I'll go to that site and check out the generic version.. Bobbi, That would be great they always have to peal those patches off and it boy it can ![]() ![]() Take care and Keep the suggestions coming.. Dawn ![]()

In the beginning I had to use tape sometimes but it is no longer needed for me. I have found out that I cannot use body lotions on my skin or the patch will not stick. I have "sensitivity to touch" because of the nerve damage so I need to be careful of using body lotions or vapor rubs to avoid the patch not sticking. Hope you find a solutions that works for you. I can not imagine life without Lidoderm patches. I just wish we would be able to wear them 24 hrs a day because bed sheets and covers are painful to me. I have to wear my patch during the day to protect against clothing touchting my thigh. Take care. |
