Default It's a wonderful life, even when it isn't....

.....

So, I watched "It's A Wonderful Life" again....

I'll admit that I just love Donna Reed and I would watch it just to watch her. LOL

but...

I have often find myself in George's place...I've often felt that I should do "something else" with my life...

for the longest time, I hated my life...I hated myself...

it's hard to find something wonderful when a person would hate himself...

and it felt even worse whenever someone would tell me: "oh, you're so special, you're going to do something with your life one day, I just know it..."

or something to that sort...

and while I would be grateful for their kind words, I would find myself even more angry and self-destructive because I KNOW that they didn't know what they were talking about....

how dare they? They don't know me...the real me...

the one that was contantly down...the one that just want to drive his car over the bridge...the one that wants to jump into the ocean and never surface again...

what do they know??

In the past, "It's a Wonderful Life" has become something that I would mock...

yeah, whatever....the acting was too method, the story was too "story book like" with it's mundane moral(s)...

who cares....maybe George should've jumped off that bridge...maybe he would've been better off....and Clarence the angel? Who the heckit would name an angel CLARENCE???

when it is dark, and ALL dark...

where does the wonderful come from??

It's hard to dig within to find "wonderful" when all is dreadful...

so....I am thinking that it is common place for those us that battle the suicidal thoughts...

that we just don't think it is so wonderful....

but then, there is truth to that tried and tired moral....

we ALL are important to somebody, and if you are that guy on the enzyte commercial, you are impotent to somebody...

we may not see it, but we definitely are...to someone, somewhere...

if we are not around, there would definitely be events that WOULD be altered...

if ONE man wasn't born in the million man march, it would only be 999,999 men march...

if ONE woman wasn't born during the era of women liberation movement, there would be one LESS bra in that pyre...and every bra counts...

it is so easy to feel insignificant...it is so easy to get blindsided and go into that dark place...

but believe me you, if anyone of you think that you are insignificant...it is not true....

I watched an interview with Tyler Perry....he spoke about how often he wanted to die when he was a child, severely abused by his father...he would go hide under his house...

yet, he survived and became an important voice for many...and when he spoke of how he took cared of his mama, got her a house and maids, moss and I looked at each other with tears in our eyes, he just went up in our hearts another notch...

if he had believed his dad....killed himself because of the heavy abuse...we'd never get to see the creativeness that he's brought....

is it wonderful?? Maybe not...maybe not when we're sick all the time, and we're broke, and we feel like nobody cares...

but really, when we look under every rock and speck of dirt, we'll see that we've been important and wonderful to someone else's lives....at one time or another...

never under estimate your value...or how wonderful you are....

for it is a wonderful life...even when it sucks...

and if you are here...you ARE wonderful....

for if you were not born...MY life WOULD be altered....so, you have at least made a difference in MY life...that makes me know that YOU, are wonderful already....

I think this post should be bronzed or guilded or stickied. I shall be bumping it up on a regular basis for as long as I live. Thank you moi...it is so you....our wonderful unique you.

I need to start cooking...and stop crying...and stop wondering why Mr.Alffe puts up with me. Merry Christmas to the room.

Oh Moss, you bring me out of lurking every time. So often what you say is exactly what I've been thinking. And yes it's a wonderful life even when you don't think it is. Again, I've been able to surprise my son even when we've had to cut back.

Merry Christmas everyone. You are a wonderful family and all of you are special and very much loved!!!

well shoot you folks...

if it weren't for you folks and da wife, I wouldn't be writing this....I would be somewhere 12 feet under already....I know, it's usually 6 feet under for most folks, but I usually require double space for some odd reason...

btw,it looks like I've created an amphibology. I don't mean, "shoot you folks," I meant, "shoot, you folks..."

for some reason, it reminds me of one of my favorite jokes:

A panda walks into a café.

He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and proceeds to fire it at the other patrons.

"Why?" asks the confused, surviving waiter amidst the carnage, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"Well, I'm a panda'', he says, at the door. ''Look it up.''

The waiter turns to the relevant entry in the manual and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

''Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves.''

everytime I see this joke, I would still get a chuckle out of it and it helps to remind me that...

"It IS a wonderful life..."

thank you all once again for helping making it even more wonderfuller...

(did I mentioned that I frunked Engrish?? LOLOLOLOL)

Moi, my lil bro...you are so important to me...I have four older brothers and you are my only lil bro...and I know you care ton's for me and mine.

I always tell my Olhipie that I'm thankful for his MS because without it we never would have met and fallen in love and you know the rest of the story...

We were on our way to Wyoming to go dog sledding last year in February with a bus load of people with a variety of unabilities...dis...there was a point when I said while we were all sharing there unabilities...ok I didn't do well at English either...anyways...I told the group that if we were all living a live without disabilities we wouldn't have even been on a bus heading to Wyoming to go dog sledding, thus never meeting each other.

Well, to make a long story longer, we all grew to care for each other and even love each other! I look forward to every outing hoping to see the same familiar friends again.
