Default suicidal thoughts....

Hi my name is Tabby. I am as many of you have read in " I survived my husbands suicide attempt" going through a lot. I myself have depression and i just am having no trouble helping him look at the bright side but for me at night I am forced to lay in bed and think. I have many varying thoughts of how i could die I am afraid I might go crazy any advice on how to keep from going insane?

Tabby

When you get in bed..............just breathhhhhhhhh

hear your breath.....listen to your heart beat............learn to relax your body and mind...........foccus on your self..........[your dear husband is in hospital and proffessional people are taking care of him......you have to take care of yourself]

As for helping he see the bright side of life.............you cant............he must find the bright side himself....with medical support.....and determination to come to terms with his condition..............

You Tabby on the other hand are responsible for finding your brighter sky...........when you are strong he will see your strength.............and it may encourage him too

YOU WILL BOTH GET THROUGH THIS.............just BREATHHHHHHHHHHHH

David

Heart You Don't Have to Be Crazy

"the first thing I want to tell you about suicide is that you don't have to be crazy to think about or, for that matter, even to try it. Suicide is a solution. No matter what anyone tells you, suicide does solve problems, at least your problems. And if you succeed, it solves them once and for all. As you have no doubt already figured out, once you are dead nothing can hurt you anymore. Once you are dead you are beyond feeling bad. Once you are dead you can't possibly care what happens anymore. Whatever pain you are in, it will end just as soon as you stop breathing. Since there is no point in kidding each other right here in the biginning, I won't argue with you that suicide doesn't work. It does. Or at least it seems to.....

And so begins Paul Quinnett's wonderful book Suicide, The Forever Decision.

I can't recommend this book highly enough...it is written for those who are thinking about suicide and for those who know, love, or counsel them. It's in papper back. (((Tammy))) and hugs for the room.

Tabby, you are going through an especially trying period. As for advice ... I suspect the fact that you are "afraid" you "might go crazy" means you probably won't. It you were not afraid, well, that would be a different matter.

Dear Tabby,

Tom makes an excellent point. Your fear is actually a healthy sign.

in your circumstances, it is understandable to experience extreme emotions. i am glad you are seeing your counselor today. i hope she can help you work through this.

sending hugs to you during this trying time.
