Default jingle

Dear jingle,
I started to write on the Wonder thread but changed my mind. I just read your post. I'm so sorry to read what's happening with your husband today. I hope you're at least getting some well needed sleep right now 'cause it sounds as if it's going to be another huge day tomorrow.

I'm not sure if I read it correctly, but are you saying you're having to cancel all those procedures that you've been waiting for so long? I hope that's not what you're saying. I totally understand the circumstances but what will happen with those tests now if they're cancelled. You need to have them done.

I just can't believe sometimes how everything seems to happen at once... it's just not fair. I hope all goes well for your husband tonight and that he's doing much better.

I'll be thinking of you and your hubby, jingle.
Hope you're getting some rest
(((jingle)))

I agree with what Lara is saying, if there is ANY way you can get to St Louis for those tests I'd do it... you've been waiting to long for these... I'm so sorry all this is going on. You'll definately be in my prayers.

It sounds like maybe they are going to do an angiogram on your husband to check and see what's going on, if there might possibly be a blockage. With the angiogram they go into the heart through either the leg or the arm. If they find a blockage they open it up with a little balloon and sometimes 'stent' it to hold that area open.

My dad has had that done 16 times. Usually the patient gets to leave the day after the procedure.

If they do that procedure on Monday, you could still get in for your tests on Tuesday. I hope you don't cancel them until you can find out when the next appointment might be.

I had to go search for VEEG because I didn't know what this was. I found an interesting web site of a young boy who had it done. Now I see why it takes days to do it. Sam's VEEG story.

Thanks you all I'm home, tired and very confused so forgive stupidity (well, more than normal).
Husband DID have heart attack last night.
As soon as the cardiac people at the St Louis hospital ran a few tests they knew that and knew they could not run stress tests or anything like that.
Today they did heart cath and(?) the angioplasty (through his groin, Doody) and a put stent inside an artery inside his heart.
The surgeon drew pictures for me ... OMG
He'll be in cardiac ICU until tomorrow evening or sometime Tuesday.

When he gets home -- again my sister and her husband carting us around (except this time they will probably have to take off from work) he will have to have care. I will have to be home. That's the way it is.

Another major problem ......he's retiring on May 1 -- already put in his papers -- and we lose our good insurance and go to something really rotten. It's impossible for me to get my MRI, PET and VEEG rescheduled before then.
But I must scancel it first thing in the morning - can't be helped or changed. A heart attach comes first. Rotten wording, huh?

Doody - "Sam's VEEG" is similar to the one I have had and was planning on having again but not the same .... each hospital is different with its neuro testing. Sam had much more freedom and didn't look like a mummy.

Thank you all for listening to me

Oh Jingle I'm so sorry. I so wish you could get this done now. I'm praying you can find a way to get it done. You could both be in the hospital...just different ones at the same time.

I've had the heart cath done twice, one of those times they did my brain too so now I have proof that there is one there. I prefer the leg, but no amount of warning prepared me for the bruising, so be prepared. It scared the poop outa me.

Jingle I will keep you and hubby in my prayers.

Love and hugs,

Julie

Julie --- A BRAIN CATH ???
Please tell me you're kidding .......... why?

Husband is doing OK ........... he'll probably be home sometime tomorrow.

My appointment at the other hospital has been rescheduled for April 10. It was May 22, but I told them about our insurance and they took pity.

Another long, painful, teary, story - even involving in-laws- and I won't bore you anymore.

Many thanks - many hugs

Wooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooooo you get your appointment in April. I'm doing cartwheels...okay I'm too fat for cartwheels, but I'm thinking about doing them.

When the doctor was doing the heart cath, he decided to see what my brain looked like. It was so amazing to watch it. I have horrible vertigo (much worse back then). It was very cool to watch them squirt the dye and see it go through my brain. What they did find out is that probably from my brain concussion/skull fracture injury as a baby there was much more damage than they thought. What they discovered is that I have no blood flow to the right anterior portion of my brain. Trust me...my brain live on TV...COOL.

jingle, good news that your husband will be well enough to come home so soon. That's just amazing! I'm also very happy to read that your appointment for your other tests isn't too far away. Take care of yourself.
