Alffe, do you mean ~katy? and what do you mean by "on her way"... leaving this earth?

Re: interesting brain... I watched Oliver Saks on a documentary recently - it was called "The Creative Brain" - it was fascinating - here, I just found it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUUOHBk5qDM (about an hour long but well worth the watch!)

So on my plate today is the usual household cleaning/washing/organizing... but I did go to a singing rehearsal and lunch with the girls first

I was given some rhubarb so I hope to make some pies (with strawberries) over the next few days - that will be yummy!

I'm wondering as well. I pm'd alffe but I think she's not been back to answer as she's busy.

yum, Addy. sounds delicious.
thanks for that link as well. I can't find the one I was looking for yet.
Another one you might like is "The Brain that changes itself" about neuroplasticity. Norman Doidge. It's probably online somewhere as well. Adapted from the book.

Upppp. incoming PM. I'll go read it now.

Yes I'm sorry to say Addy. We are friends on fbook and I knew she was batteling cancer. Her son Dan posted that she was in a coma and the end is very near. Her photographs are in my favorites...remember her dog Molly? They will be together again soon.

I just pm'd you Lara.

Default Thermostat

Wren, I am scared for you too. I hope you continue to be tumor free from here on out.

My plate has chilly thermostats at work. I am hypothyroid for no apparent reason and it's starting to affect me at work with brain fog and icy fingers. Here at home the thermostat is on 78 but even that feels cold today. I have meds that need storing at 78 or less so not sure how to turn it up. The fridge is too cold for 'em.

Hugs to the room.

Oh and jalepenos on my plate followed by birthday cake.

tied,

If it was your birthday, [and I can only imagine it must have been if you had jalapenos followed by birthday cake!] then I wish you a belated birthday wish.

Happy Birthday, tied

and

I hope that the coming year is much kinder to you there.

If we're wrong then just ignore...

Default Tomorrow but thanks

My birthday is tomorrow but we started celebrating on the 6th for Dad's 91st. I will be a speed limit which it would be unl(awful) to exceed. So tomorrow we will get another cake and perhaps go to a hibachi place for din din.

Results on my hypothyroid tests were normal so they suggest I may be anemic. Which they failed to test for. Sigh. So I make lots of cups of tea which I wrap my fingers around and bundle up in fleece. My best birthday present will be that my dog is still here to celebrate it with me.

I seem to cry at the tiniest things. It took me 3 days to wash enough dishes so I can have a poached egg for breakfast and then the pan came tumbling down splat on the dirty floor so I have to wash it again. Doesn't seem like much but that set me off crying. I think its the hypothyroidism I supposedly don't have.
