Default For Lara

This is the HighLine..http://www.thehighline.org/about/park-information

Wonderful views of New York...and imagine our surprise to learn first hand that the water fountains "talk" to you, saying things like.."How do I love thee..let me count the ways"

And when I looked into the bathroom mirror while washing my hands, it said "I like your blouse!". lolol

And like you, I will be in moi territory in spirit only...I know they will have a wonderful time celebrating an anniversary in addition to enjoying that beautiful part of our country.

Wow. Thanks for that. Whole different world to me. Water fountains talking?

I was so close to NY when in Alexandria and I could have got the darn train with my friend but it seemed so far away to me. I wasn't sure I could deal with it. I'd been going up the down stairs on the escallators and driving on the opposite side of the road and driving around DC in the middle of the night with moi and others looking for food. Lucky I recoginized the landmark trees and was able to steer moi in the right direction. Only he would understand that I'm sure.

Not NY, but you know what I noticed the most when in DC? It was the disparity between wealth and poverty. You know what I noticed next? It was the number of aeroplanes in the sky above. Amazing, amazing place! Couldn't live there. Have trouble getting around this little seaside hub.

Thanks for explaining the "Highline".

Memories really do last a lifetime! And the disparity between wealth and poverty in this country is greater than ever Lara...greed is a terrible thing but don't get me started on that. The marchers protesting on Wall Street should be protesting in Washington D.C.....but don't get me started on that either.

Well, I've stopped chaining myself to trees.
I've stopped marching in anti-war parades. (although if someone took me in a wheelchair I'd go!).
I'm a child of the seventies. A child of a revolution. I grew up having to to stand up to a lot of things. Now I am old and tied and I say...

(I'm so glad that I had a tiny chat with waves and I seem to have found my sense of humour once again. yay!)

our wonderful waves has a way of doing that to people.

I'm older than you Lara so my marching was for civil rights! If I were younger I'd be in Washington D.C...yelling with a sign in my hands! *grin

Now I just curse from my rocking chair.

But I do love your choice of songs...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZbKHDPPrrc

Civil rights here too! Gosh, Queensland history is a messy business indeed.
Don't wish to get political here of course but it was a police state at that time.

I was realy sad on my one and only visit to DC in 1998 to find the reflection pond drained and muddy. I had truly wished to jump into it.

Well it's full of water again and I wish the politicians would jump in it!

Totally different system here of course...

I think when we can't get out in person then we need to type, write, text, whatever.

Here it helps. Not sure about there ?

Not here at NT but definitely Facebook and Twitter. The crowds are growing all across the country...and Martin Luther King would be so proud...they are peaceful....so far.
