I try to rest on the weekends but every time I go to rest my dad sees me and yells at me to get up and do something. He thinks I'm normal and fine. He gets mad when he sees me in my room or on the computer and not out "doing stuff".

What he doesn't realize is that I'm NOT better and NOT fine. And I don't have any friends to do stuff with. When I tell him I'm not fine and I don't feel good he gets even more angry. He does not understand why.

Could you talk to your school counselor? grandparents? siblings? It's great that you share here but you need some support in "real" life.

Sam,

Lack of proper communication with your dad, and anger on his part, is a real problem. I know how that can be, and more and can offer no real solution but to try to talk and compromise - not by going out but by not isolating yourself too much.

There is always benefit in writing down exactly how you are feeling, your struggles and what support you need (important) and giving copies to every family member.

Dave.

Hey Sam,

How are you doing? I was just thinking about you and am sending hugs. It's Friday!!! Do you have a three day weekend?

My son is looking very forward to the extra day off. It's nice to catch a bit of a break. I hope it is a restorative weekend.

Hi littlepaw !

I'm ok. Same as always. My mom cant get a hold of the doctors office to take a couple thyroid tests... they just don't pick up or are too busy, Very frustrating.

However, I've been going to a Acu-Presserist this whole jouney, and she knows everything. My concussion, what I think I have, etc. Basically shes a acupuncturist without the needles. Shes extremely intelligent. Yesterday, her and another doctor basically naturally tested me for all different things, (not blood, tests are based on energy and frequencies)

They both found out that I have low adrenals and low thyroid. However, It's not that easy, there not allowed to prescribe medication to treat it because I need "standard" tests to show what we found, but what they can do is give me natural mineral supplements to help thyroid function.

Hard to explain. Basically, I'm taking mineral supplements twice a day and seeing if that helps. They really believe it will.

Hang in there, Sam. You've got to MacGyver your way out of this. Keep looking for treatments for your injury and ways to solve the social situation and connect with other people. Don't let the down days keep you down.

Hi Sam,

Good to hear from you. I find that encouraging about the accupressurist. Not everyone likes acupuncture but I am a big fan, having had an excellent practitioner for a long time. Adrenal weakness is something we pretty consistently seem to be adjusting for me. The good news, the acupuncture does seem to address and balance that problem. Thyroid adjustment often requires a more western approach but maybe this new treatment will be of help.

I hope your Mom gets through to the doctor's office soon. And people think it's challenging herding cats....

Keep at it Macgyver...
And have a good rest of the weekend.

Hi guys,

Today is the 1 year anniversary since this horror all started.

This is disgusting and a trauma on its own for me. Exactly 1 year later and I still feel horrible. I feel like this has been the worst year and wasted year of my life.

Calling my main doctor today to let him know that I truely truely believe I have a thyroid and adrenal issue and I want more tests done. And that I'm NOT crazy.

Canceled the "special" thyroid test because those people can't get back to me.

Hi Sam,

I've been thinking of you and I'm so sorry you are still having a tough time.

I've been pretty MIA here due to my own issues so I'm sorry I have not answered you sooner.

There have been some wonderful suggestions for you written here that I hope help you.

I keep you in my thoughts and prayers every night .

You are a very special and brave young man and I commend you for coming here to try to get some answers, support and helping suggestions for you.

In my opinion, and I'm sorry I haven't read all of your posts, maybe you, your parents ,doctor and school counselor can have a meeting all together on your behalf?

I believe that your school counselor and doctor would help you by helping your parents understand what you have been dealing with physically and emotionally , and why you are feeling the way you do .
