Angry It ticks me off

when people are afraid to use the word suicide....when they call it the "S" word...like some evilness to awful to identify. How will we ever get it right if we can't even talk about it?!!!

So many things tick me off lately...was going to start a new ticked off thread and remembered to search for an old, shorter one.!

For starters it ticks me off that Curious isn't around here anymore..

It ticks me off that I burned up the engine on my wonderful old car by driving it too far when the hot thermometer signal was on....

It ticks me off that it cost 2,500.00 to put a crashed engine in it....

It ticks me off that my riding mower broke the next day but that only cost 185.00 to fix....

It ticks me off that the coffee pot broke unexpectedly but that only cost 35.00 to replace....

It ticks me off that my dear friend continues to breathe...(sorry if that offends anyone)...big sigh

It ticks me off that Abbie has so much to worry about....

Maybe someone should start a "I'm Thankful For" thread....big sigh

It ticks me off that I have started several posts to my dear friends here... only to lose them because I hit some random key on this laptop!

It ticks me off that I did what Alffe did... only my car died! and its not worth repairing! It also ticks me off that the car was serviced ($700!) and full-inspected BEFORE I went on my holiday with Grand-Addy!

It ticks me off that I'm hyper-sensitive to "stuff" right now because I'm on a medication which reacts with my SSRI!

It ticks me off that I'm on this med because I got an infected tooth while on vacation!

Ah... but for the most part... I am super grateful for my life!

Default true alffe

We must get over our adversion to say the word. Also end of life issue for illness should be dicussed. Our culture has gotten away from some of the issues that really can and do hurt peoples lives. If we are afraid to talk, how can anything be solved, or even thought about. Suiside happens, also end of life issues happen for all of us. How we deal with these difficult situations is not discussed enough. I worry about our Vets, and the terrible suiside numbers going on right now. Who is adressing their needs? I have one in the service, and a nother newly wed, whos husband is over in afganastan. I do worry when they get home how their mental state is. People I know and love.

The flip side is when we get old and are really sick. do we talk about it, NO, we don't. Even within families, these issues are not talked about enough. My grown son, gets so uncomfortable, and antsy even when talking about surrogate health care provider, or end of life care. We need to talk more, open this up, to get anywhere at all in this country. ginnie

There was an article in our paper last week and of course I can't find it. It was about alzheimers on the increase due to baby boombers coming of age and how our society must deal with the "choices"....I found this link in my search but I wanted the article itself because it was also about terminal "anything" and how we need to DEAL with it.

http://www.alz.org/national/document...edecisions.pdf

I'm going to go thru our trash and see if I can find it...after my coffee. *grin

I love my old car...it's a Dodge Intrepid with the big 3 engine which made it worth fixing. It "only" has 147,000 miles on it and the wrecked replacement engine only has 61,000 miles on it..same big 3 engine. I can't buy a new car for 2,500...now of course the transmission will probably go.

So sorry about your tooth and your "stuff". Hugs.
