Davids post to reyn got me to thinking about words and how we use and sometimes abuse them. I think we use them in an attempt to comfort and ease the pain of those we care about. But sometimes it's best just to be silent because words can hurt people....the best laid plans of mice and men my dad used to say. Or my mother would say, if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all.
What words am I trying to say? Words can't help when a heart is broken. Words can't coax someone out of the darkness. That's what hugs are for. And sometimes it's best to just listen...with an open heart. ![]()
