Default a new bee in chat before....

i went into chat here around 8 tonight
there was a person named manda in there i tryed for 2 hours to get her to call 911. me and another neuro pal gave her our email and were instant messaging her like a confrence chat with all 3 of us. she finaly called 911 but then logged off the comp and i dont know what happened. i dont know what to do when things like this come up. i am really upset and i hope 911 got there. she was complaining of racing heart and feeling dizzy hard to breath then she threw up blood and felt really sleepy. i am really sad. and praying 911 got there and that she is okay she told me she was 13. i have a 13 year old girl.
what is one supose to do when they come across something like this in the chats? and by the way two others came in the chats but left in less then five mins.. dose anyone know of a new member called manda here she said she was new and i am going to look in the members list for her. and i got her email so i will be emailing her to see if she is okay. her mom was at work.I am just praying 911 got there and she is getting some help and doctors care now.
but any advice as to what to do would be very helpfull to me. i know i should of asked where she lived and maybe tryed to get address. but can one out of state call 911 for another who needs help???? how dose that work? any kind of advicee would be great. maybe i should be posting this in social chat or the feed back forum but all you here are my friends and smart ones at that so here i am.
THANK YOU MUCH!!!
Peace
BMW p.s. i just copied and posted this in the feed back forum also.

Wow, Tina, what a scary experience. Good thing you were there to help this girl. I hope she is okay and will contact you. Let us know, K?

BMW

If she called 911, and she was coherent enough to be typing on the computer in chat, then IMHO, I would say she would be ok.

My sister works for 911 (she's an EMS and a dispatcher) and most people can't call and type at the same time if they are that sick...so I would think positive. You guys did great talking to her. It probably calmed her down a lot.

Hopefully she will come back and let you all know that she is ok. Keep trying to email her and maybe one of the Admin will know who she is.

But remember, we are not counselors here, but we do what we can. You did good.

well maybe I have been played I dont know the email she gave worked last night but today it is giving me a failure to deliver so I dont know. kinda not fun if she was just playing cus my dad died at home in front of me from massive heart attack when i was a young thing ...in May so this month is the aniv. of it and last night it just kept playing in my head over and over while i was begging this person to call her mom or 911. I pray if she honestly needed help ...she got it and if she was just playing well it wasnt nice and i hope she dose not do it again to anyone!

I'm sorry Koala...I didn't mean to be "mysterious" I was talking about the olden days *grin...I'm olde! The BrainTalk forums in some of our pasts..where we met and picked each other up off the floor before it all changed and went down the drain. OBT=old Brain Talk. The owner/admin there at one time was so involved with the members that he actually traced IP #s and sent the police out to their home because we were so concerned about someones safety. That is a huge no no because of liability issues..well, I have already gone on and on and I said I wouldn't.

How are you today?

yeah o.b.t. been there and banned before the big crash .
ANYWAYS UPDATE ...Got to chat instant message with Manda last night.
She did call 911 on Sat night logged off her comp when they came she went to hosp was there for 3 days. Manda was having small heart attacks. she is home now but has to go back to hosp for more tests and stuff. poor girl
anyways I am glad me and another good friend of mine from neuro here
were able to drill it in her to call 911. Thanks friend i know you will see this and your help made a diffrence !!!
I am so glad she is seeing docotr and is okay. I hope she comes to neuro soon and posts again. i have gotten some people who think she was trying to harm self but she was not i never said she was doing that.I said she was complaining of chest hurting hard to breath dizzy and throwing up... i know none of you here were one who think she was to harm self but for others who read this she was just having small heart attack NOT threating or trying to harm self. no one deserves a reputation based on rumors .
so thats the update i know the lot of us care so just passing the info on.
and so thankfull it is good news too
thanks friends
PEACE

LOL Alffe!

BMW

I used to spend a lot of time in the old Braintalk chat rooms. You did the right thing with this girl, with one exception. It's okay to give them all you've got, but try not to lose any sleep over new people who come in with emergencies. There's only so much you can do in a chat room.

We used to get a lot of "drive-bys" from kids who liked to play games by creating an emergency and watching all of us get upset. We practically fell over each other trying to help. Sometimes we started fighting with each other over appropriate advice. Far too often the ISP would be traced back to an elementary school library - bored school kids.

It sucks because it's so hard to tell the difference between authentic and phony. I solved that problem by treating every story as real, but kept in mind it could be just a joke. If it turns out to be real, no problem. If it turns out to be phony, oh well - at least that person would know what to do in case whatever they were talking about comes true. Besides, even if it was phony, that person still had a problem - they needed attention, and you gave it to them.

Go ahead and give them your heart. Just don't let them run away with it before you get to know them better. I'm glad you heard from Mandy.

Have fun!
