Doody
I have been praying for those people. It's a blessing to survive such a monster, but it's still devastating to lose everything else. I was 9 when I had my first introduction to the power of an F4/5. On one intersection down the street from me, 16 people lost their lives while stuck in traffic. To this day, I remember them when I cross that intersection. If it hadn't been my birthday, my father would have been stuck in that intersection too. Thankfully, he came home early that day because it was my birthday. Our windows blew out and it shook up the house, but it remained standing. I doubt this house would survive another though. In 1990, I watched another big one from an 18th floor corner office - all glass - headed straight for us. The building was evacuated, but my boss wanted me to stick around because he wanted to dictate some notes - on SAFETY, of all things! ![]() ![]() Geneva hates thunder and lightening - even when it's off in the distance. You should see her try to climb onto my lap. ![]() Poor Bruna - at least she doesn't weigh 140 lbs. ![]() |
