Default OT flood photos

A friend of my coworker (from Cedar Rapids, IA) sent these photos to her this afternoon. Just thought you'd be interested to see just how flooded these places are really getting!!

Really - and that water is DIRTY. I can't imagine having my home, business AND community swept away all at once. So many crops lost too, which will have an impact on us all. All the while, the Mighty Mississippi laughs and says "Sand -You think you can defeat me with SAND?" It's amazing to see how powerful that water can be when a levee breaks - how quickly everything floods. Looking at the landscape you'd think those residents wouldn't have to worry about flooding....or where to find food, shelter and clean drinking water.

Thanks for the pics, Doody. I hope those residents receive the help they require and find a way to resume a "normal" life soon.

Awwww, thanks for sharing. It is so sad. I had to giggle at the "neighborhood watch" sign and the Flamingo standing on the water. Almost appropriate at this time huh?

Keeping them all in prayer. Hugs

Mother nature is speaking with such power and devastation I pray she lightens up a.s.a.p. and those affected can come together and get threw the ugly mess and major losses . That is easy to say but hard to actuly accomplish May God be blessing all that are there dealing with it!

Thank you so much for the pictures. It makes me so sick to see what it happening and to know what these folks are facing.

My community went through this in December. My 81 year old dad was flooded bad for the 2nd time.

If it should warm up now will the molds and smell be worst then in December?

We had somewhere to put the things that we could salvage. It doesn't look like people will be able to salvage much.

FEMA offers some, but not what it will take for a house to be put back together. If you have flood insurance, just from what I saw over here...depending on who you had...some folks received monies right away and some are just now getting it.

For my family, it has been 6 long month of trying to help my dad get his house back together on the weekends. He finally has flooring down just last week. He will need a refrig and T.V. and hot water tank, so he can move back in. He bought a recliner chair. He has this whole house full of nothing. How upsetting!

Hope you all don't mind....May the Lord give these people the strength for what they must face in the coming months....
