I wear bifocals these days. They cause me a bit of bother actually.
I used to wear disposable contacts. One eye used long distance prescription and the other eye used the short distance. Took about 2 weeks for my brain to adjust and then they were the best thing I'd ever used. I found my eyes got really tired though and even though I had glasses to use at night to give my eyes a rest, I found it was just getting to be a bit of a pain. I'd love to go back to the contacts again though. I have vertigo a lot and find my bifocals tend to interfere with my field of vision when I'm walking around. I have trouble judging distance and also trouble judging changes in levels. My head is bobbing up and down all over the place. What I would do is maybe adjust your monitor so that you've not got your head at an unusual angle trying to read. Even try moving it closer or further away. See if anything helps. Do remember though, Barb, that you can change the Text size up in View. This browser I'm using right now has ZOOM + or -. My old one I thought just had something like adjust Text Size + or -. . |

Not sure what browser you're using but did you try it when you just had the SOS Forum open or when you were typing a reply in the little text box?
OK, try it this way. See on your keyboard there is Ctrl button in far left front? Put your finger on that and at the same time put another finger on the plus sign + which should be next to Backspace. Do it simultaneously. Don't do it with the text window open, where you type a reply. Do it before you reply when you have a thread open or a main page open. To decrease size, if you make it too large like I just did LOL, you just click Ctrl and the minus sign - In between the naught 0 and the equal sign = on your keyboard. |

((Barb)) are you on a PC or a Mac?
LOL I just learned something new from Lara! But what I've always done is just hold down the Ctrl key on the bottom left of the keyboard, and use the scroll button on my mouse to increase or decrease. And I don't have any problem seeing my monitor with my progressives. I do desperately need a new pair though so I'm glad I have my annual eye appt later this month!

Wow, I didn't know that. Thank you Doody!
I've only ever owned one mouse with a wheel (the one I'm using now) and that's not been for so very long, so wasn't aware it worked like that. I just tested it and it works so easily. Thanks. |
