I know how hard today is. I want y'all to know I am so sorry and saddened to hear this news. Saying goodbye is heartbreaking, but it will mean so much to her and her family.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone.

This is hard to respond to...every time I try I start welling up.
But rather than make people wonder, there are a few of us here...((Ms. Alffe)) ((Moi)) ((Mrs. Moi)) myself, who have had a dear friend since 1998? from BrainTalk. Her nick is/was Roadie. She's really sick. She's been living for years thinking she had MS. She just found out yesterday she has leukodystrophy, not MS and she isn't doing well. Her sister's daughter just died in November from the same illness. If anyone else here knows ((Roadie)), we have contact info for her. Okay, little sick to my tummy now and cant' stop the tears so Curious, you are very special, thank you. I'm sure when the others feel like talking about it they will. Roadie (Brenda) could use some prayers.

I don't know Roadie (Brenda) but that won't stop me saying a prayer for her. Also sending my support to all here on NT who need it right now. Encircling each and every one with my love.

Heck, I'm truly sorry to read this.
I know some of you were very close. I didn't know her very well at all, but do remember chatting with her in the old classic chatroom elsewhere. I do remember that she always was a lot of fun to talk with and she seemed to have a very positive outlook. wow, hard to imagine thinking it was MS all these years when it actually wasn't. That's shocking. Roadie, my thoughts are with you. You're a trooper through and through. *heart |

I just got off the phone with her and only yesterday, at OSU, did she learn that the MS that was dx'd those many years ago is in reality leukodystrophy....she is in shock! Who wouldn't be.
If you believe in prayer..please pray for her. And if you are more comfortable with sending positive thoughts her way, please do that.

thanks everyone for the kind thoughts and prayers and wishes...
it was hard hearing the news yesterday... had to walk outside and be reminded of what life meant.... the warm sun, the golden marsh whistling in the breeze, the egrets fishing, the pelicans gliding in the river... the new buds sprouting up everywhere and even the pollen that made me sneeze and eyes water...it reminded me that i am alive...and inside that i know someone out there is dying... it's like a scale in my heart....aching for a special friend who has fought what she thought was ms for many years...and the news... at the same time, i know this may sound crazy, but because she thought she had progressive ms, that i think she fought it. if she had found out that it was leukodystrophy first. i wonder if she'd fought as hard. i am not sure where the follie is in all this or was it a blessing or a curse... just from our conversations in the past that i think it's a mixed blessing that she thought it was ms vs the leukodystrophy. there is also another blessing...her son has shown to be so very responsible and wonderful and i had a nice talk with him. i gave him some encouragement and told him that he's doing a good job...he seemed shocked to hear that he's "good" she hadn't told him yet and i hope she will... please don't think i am weird trying to look at the positive side of things...roadie has suffered a lot these years and i hope with all my heart that there is some way for her to beat this thing... but knowing roadie, the brave road killer as we'd call her...i know deep inside her that spirit is well and alive...and in the end, she'll be ok...yes, she's scared...but she's going to be ok... thank you all so much...

I spoke with (((Roadie))) last night and her son had set up her computer for her. It had broken and her mom got it fixed. She was on long enough to come here. I let her know there were people out here, strangers, who loved her and left messages.
So she came here and read but couldn't post. She cried at what she read from perfect strangers. And she wanted all of you to know how much it meant to her and she sent her love back to you. (((Lara))) She spoke of you with great fondness and talked of what a wonderful person you are. She remembers very well chatting with you.
