Chemar, I am so sorry to read about what is happening with this person, and that you too are suffering his pain.

Alffe thank you for posting that poem because it says exactly what I wanted to say, but it says it so much better than I ever could.

I can only agree with what the others have said. Support him in any way you can and from my own experience, often the best help may be simply to listen. Listen with your ears, and listen with your heart, and please remember that God will guide you along the way.

(((Chemar))) Sending up prayers for you and him. He is in His hands, and very tenderly held. Does he like music? That may sound like a small thing, but, it can help change the mood and lead him closer to his own strength of spirit beyond the body. I don't know if that will help, but, I have seen it perform some real miracles with those who are really sick and dying, or want to die. It has to be something that touches his heart, and means a lot to him. sssssss

((((((((((Cheri)))))))))) You have nothing to feel sorry for, my friend. After all the hugs you've given to others on these forums, it's time to lean in and get a big bunch of them back! I am praying for you and yours in this tough hour...

So true and thank you for mentioning this. Jim's VitD is low. We had it checked about a week or so ago. It's not below 20 which is considered low but it's 24. The doctor ordered VitD from the pharmacy for him. He should have it in about a week.

((Chemar)) With Lynn's health right now, this is a hard one for me... sigh

I visit the nursing home every day. It is so hard. acccck. Harder still is I just can not seem to ignore the cries from others. Just as an example...One lady with Alzheimer's calls for Marjorie through out the whole day and night. I don't know who Marjorie is to this poor old soul, but she misses her something fierce. When I am there and her her cries, I go visit her.

I hate it!! She calms down as soon as she seems me, but then she starts saying how she wishes hear good Lord would let her go Home. How tired she is of hurting and living. Why can't she just die, and would I please please help her. ACCCCK!! So hard, but I can't just listen to her pleas without offering her some peace.

I imagine you must feel the same way I do... you want so much to help, but there is so little one can say or do. My advice, continue to do as you have been. Be the best friend you can by listening and opening your heart to the hurt their pain brings you. You are such an angel, your friend is lucky to have you
