I was reading some verses in the Psalms this morning,and when I read this,you came to my mind.

Psalm 62:3,4
3 You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord's hand,a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
4 No longer will they call you Deserted,...

I feel that you feel deserted by your Dad. He didn't desert you. Maybe he suddenly snaped,and saw,and felt his world of pain close in.

He loved you dearly Nik-key. I don't think that he realized the pain that it would cause you at that time. BF

I do feel deserted, abandoned..... but I have come to truly know this one act can not change the years of love he showed me. I know he loved me, and he knew I loved him... in this I have found peace.

I thought this the perfect place to share this story a friend sent today for my birthday... knowing I was missing Dad...


God's Cake


Sometimes we wonder, 'What did I do to deserve this?' or 'Why did God have to do this to me?' Here is a wonderful explanation!

A daughter is telling her mother how everything is going wrong: she's failing algebra; her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away..

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, 'Absolutely, Mom, I love your cake.'

'Here, have some cooking oil,' her Mother offers. 'Yuck,' says her daughter.

'How about a couple raw eggs?' 'Gross, Mom!'

'Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?'

'Mom, those are all yucky!'

To which the mother replies: 'Yes, all those things seem bad by themselves.. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!

God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.

Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.


Life may not be the party we hoped for,
but while we are here we might as well dance.

There are so many things that I'd like to say. You have some of the most tender hearted things to say,and you have a wonderful heart.

We all go through many emotions when the events of our life turn into a season of heartache. You have been through a great deal of heartache,and the Lord is close to those who have broken hearts.

Well I just loved the cake story...so true! I'm wondering if you've ck'ed your emails recently Nikki or if I just have your address wrong...
I hope your birthday was special, just like you are.

I have a lot on my plate this week having just returned from NY...the grass is about a foot high, the bird feeders are all empty, I need to go grocery shopping and make more h'ordurves (grin..never could spell that word!) for grandsons' graduation party.

This noon is the prevention meeting that I'm trying to prepare for..need an hr. here to rewatch the facilitators CD.

I did want to pop in and leave a hug for anyone who needs one and to say that maybe we should take a poll about eliminating the "upstairs" forum.
