Arrow House of Monkey's Update

So much has been going on. I feel bad for not doing much support.

Still dealing with some of the bullying with Lil'Monkey, but she isn't letting them get her. She knows they are causing themselves more troule inthe long run. SHe does not feel safe going to the Principal. No way does she want to be seen going into his office.

GrandMonkey had his flu scare. I kept WeeBittyMonkey for a few day. She is a such a good baby. It was a joy to have her...then give her back.

Lil'Monkey has been super busy getting ready for a talent show..which is tonight. Plus her spring performaces.

She also has found her older 1/2 sister and brother. Her bio fathers kids from his first marraige...which we hear..he has had many many...I am thankful I was not one.

They don't have contact with him either, but always suspected he must have had another child/children. They are so excited about her. She talked to her sister for over an hour the first night. She is also an Aunt to a 12 yr old girl...who thinks Lil'Monkey is the greatest. They have texted non stop.

Also one Aunt has messaged her on MySpace. Kinda ticks me off...the Aunts and Uncle..Grandma..Bio Father...all knew about her. Saw her when she was a baby....but act like this is a surprise. Oh well. A few cousins messaged her too.

This is good for her. It's amazing how much she looks like her sister and brother. Gives her sense of where she came from. She doesn't have any want to find her bio father. He doesn't live far and she is and I are very easily found. Another Oh well.

Stuff about the gym isn't good news, but I can't post about that on a public forum yet. Could use lots of prayers in that area.

Time to get Lil'Monkey to school. BBL..

No need to apoligize Monkey...we all have a store house full of your support.
Sending positive thoughts to Lil'Monkey on all counts...she is doing the right thing with the bullys...did she watch Oprah yesterday? Telling our kids to ignore the bullies is not the right thing to do.

And sending prayers for things in general.

She had rehersal yesterday, so she didn't see it. I agree. Ignoring them gives them power.

The only thing she has said to the girl who spit in the teachers cup..

"I'm a Christian. I did the right thing. I would have even told YOU, if someone had spit in your cup. "

What bothers her the most is the gang mentality. The kids who have been her friend, since elementary school getting involved. They acted like it was the cool thing...to tease. They seemed to be more afraid of taking a stance for what is right and played follow the wicked leader instead.

LOL...forgot to add, hubby dropped a 45lb plate on his day before last. His big toe is black. The swelling has gone down. Dr said not to come in unless it swells more, the bruising starts to travle or he runs fever. Or if he think he feels shards of bone. More of a risk of getting sick from catching something.

He can move his toe...so not too worried. He is always hurting something. Really..he needs to own a business that has soft surfaces.

I Felt a need to respond to the BULLY issue.....I have been on BOTH ends as a kid!
At first I was on the recieving end from both boys & girls...I was pretty, dark hair, blue eyes, skinny w/ big chest! (Not my fault) Plus I had mild TS so there were slight tics here N there....The Girls hated me before they ever got to know me, & the boys just teased me. I got beat up by both almost Everyday on the way home from school.....

That was going on all thru Grade school till the end of Junior High.....I guess it was just easier to join my own "gang" (Not a REAL Gang),,,& we would make fun of others....I always felt badly doing it, but I went along,,,just because I would be the outcast if not! It was so wrong of me! I wish I had been stronger! What I finally did that seemed to work was whenever they would call me a name...I would just say, "yeah so?" ...They wouldn't have a comeback & left me alone!

You are right about the peer pressure! So NOW, when my kids were bullied, they tried the same approach, smile at them & say "Yeah,,,& your point is what?" Seems to work for the most part

BUT, one good thing came from being bullied....kept me humble.....I had no problem talking to & befriending all the "rejects like me" I had some very unfortunate friends, many with disabilities.....I would not trade one of them for any stupid friendship with a "popular" person!

Prayers from me to the monkey house.

MMMkay I was a bully in school . a tough tom boy kick your butt if you look at me the wrong way kind of girl.most of the time I beat up boys but a couple girls too here and there. Glad neither of mine are like that. BUT Gods honest truth ...I did go back and apologize to a good many of them years after when I truely understood and felt badly. most were glad I even cared to look them up and acknowledge what I did and how I hurt them.

I think having a bro who hit me around may have had something to do with how it started but then dad passing and being poor... oh heck there is no excuse I was such a dumb butt kid back then.... good thing God and life allows ya to change lanes.

now I hope ya all dont hate me after I post this cus I wouldnt hurt a fly and am a very very different person now.

BTW, Curious... You certainly have had a lot going on lately. I also wanted to add a "thank you" for posting the videos. I can't usually watch them because of my internet difficulties, but I got to watch the one of little Lynleigh today for the first time and that is just SO cute.

Lil'Monkey should be so proud of herself for being able to get up there in front of so many people and sing so well. That's something I could never do. a. I can't sing. b. I would have a panic attack and would end up looking like this... just so I could regulate my breathing. True story.
So well done to Lil'Monkey and to you as well.
