Default Got H1N1 vaccine today.

Well, I received the injection a few hours ago. The local health department is holding clinics and listed MS as one of the qualifying conditions in the newspaper. Since my neuro recommended and I am around sick college students everyday, I decided to take the plunge. Arm is a little sore and warm.

Glad you were able to get the vaccine. It's really hard to get it around here. Our doctor's office got it faster than the hospitals! Glad your arm is not too bad after the shot.

My neighbor got the vaccine today and was telling me that it was very painful. He said he'd gotten the seasonal flu shot and it was nothing compared to this one. Barb, did yours hurt, too?

I haven't called to see if my Doc has either/or shots in yet. I hope I won't regret it..

It hurt a bit more than the seasonal flu shot, I did not even feel that one. I would not describe it as very painful. The clinic (office) that I go to has not gotten any vaccine in yet either. They recommended that I go to the health department when it held its clinics. I first went when it opened at 4:00, but the line was really long ( wrapped around the building), and I could not find a parking place. When I went back at 6:00, I was done with the process in 20 minutes. They are not giving the vaccine to anyone here that is over the age of 64 ( at this point) even if you have a chronic condition.

I'm glad you got it Barb. My SIL and her son got them and they hurt less than the regular flu shot. I'm hoping it will be the same for me because this year, I felt a little achy for a couple of days with the regular flu shot.

My mom went to see a pulmonologist yesterday for a check up on her asthma and COPD, and he told her to go get an H1N1 shot as soon as she can. Too bad no one will give her one because she's going to be 69yrs old in about a month.

The pulmonologist told my parents that if she gets H1N1, it's going to be very dangerous for her. (I read in between the lines on that to mean "deadly")

Oh, and I've had a sore throat for the past few hours that feels like it's getting more and more sore. (going to the doctor in the morning if it still hurts or if it's worse, hopefully to score some Tamiflu) I hope it's not H1N1...I'm going to assume it's either just a cold or related to the fact that I had very hot taco pizza for dinner (temperature hot, not spicy) and I think I burned the inside of my mouth.
