Default There's a blizzard a comin'!

It's snowing right now, it's supposed to only drop about 3 or 4 inches by morning and then it's going to stop.

The real snow is supposed to start tomorrow night and continue into wednesday morning or afternoon.

40mph winds...blowing snow, disgustingly cold outside. 13 inches of SNOW! Snowpocalypse!!

It's time to declare a CHOCOLATE EMERGENCY!!! *cue the alarm sirens!* (well, really...isnt it ALWAYS a CHOCOLATE EMERGENCY!??)

Whenever you run out of chocolate, it's time to declare a CHOCOLATE EMERGENCY! Especially when you've got 13 inches of snow creeping towards you.

My dad stocked up on an assortment of candy bars (snickers, milky ways, twix...) from Costco, but I need chocolate almonds or at the least, some bridge mix.

On a serious note, this is supposed to be our biggest snowstorm/blizzard since 2007 (before that, our worst blizzard was in 1997. That one was on Halloween) Hopefully the weatherguy's on all the news stations are exaggerating the snow amounts.

I guess I wont be Xmas shopping till later this week...unless I take advantage of Amazon and Home Shopping Network. I have to buy my dad a camera. (he wants the Canon Rebel SLR camera...just got to figure out which one he needs)

Anyone else about to have a snowpocalypse?

I'm taking advantage of not really being able to go out during the snowstorm tomorrow.

I got my last piece of furniture that needed to be emptied before my construction project in my room starts next week all cleaned out.

Found my (now dead) dog's hotdog (rubber chew toy) in the cabinet, and a bunch of catalogs that date back to 2003. (we moved here in 2002) and a bottle of an antibiotic spray that my dog's vet gave us to spray on an injury Tiny got at a kennel just before we moved into this house. (Tiny was abused by one of the workers at the kennel)

I had to sit and stare at his hotdog toy for a bit. Had his teethmarks all over it. Kind of nice to see it again. Could have done without the reminder of Tiny being beaten half to death...tossed out the bottle of the antibiotic spray.

Was thrilled to find all my Star Trek Photonovels. (first editions!) I cant wait to get my new bookcase built. Finally, a decent place to store and display them!

Choking from the dust in the cabinet right now...think I'll use the time we're probably going to be snowed in (well, not really snowed in, I just dont want to take my mom out in this weather tomorrow...the snowed-in part will be tuesday) and clean that cabinet tomorrow with the vacuum cleaner, and probably a damp washcloth. I think we could grow corn in the dust...it's been there long enough it might be considered topsoil now.

At least I'll have gotten something done towards getting my room ready for the new desk and bookcase. I'm still waiting to get the computer armoire (sp?) out of the room.

I'm afraid to move my tv (32 inch LCD flatscreen) I cant lift it anyways because of my neck.

If there wasnt a ton of snow outside and a crapload more of it coming later, I'd take my desktop computer outside with a can of compressed air and a facemask and blow all of the dust out of it. I'm afraid to turn that computer on for all the dust that I can see inside it. (this is a job for my boyfriend. I'll just break it if I try to clean it)

At least I've got stuff cleaned up. Sorta...it's laying around on one side of my room. (need to move it to my dad's office till after the carpenter gets my desk finished)

I'm waiting till tomorrow to start moving stuff into my dad's office. I figure I've done enough tonight, and can wait till tomorrow morning or afternoon to do the rest.

Judging from the dust and the dates on the catalogs and magazines I found in the cabinet, I hadnt looked in that part of the cabinet since 2003 or 2004. Tiny died in 2006. So, his hot dog had been sitting in there all this time.

Surprised that Tiny didnt tell me it was in there at some point. He was always able to tell us that one of his toys was in a drawer or a cabinet. I think he could smell them.

Maybe he didnt like the hot dog as much as his ball and hamburger toy?

It's still snowing outside...think this batch of snow is going to quit soon, because I could see the moon thru the clouds earlier...which means it's going to get really cold if the clouds are clearing out.

I really hope they're wrong about the 40mph winds tomorrow.

This has me wondering. When it's cold out like that, do I have to take any really special precautions to protect my hands or any other part of my body that are currently numb from the MS?

Erin just hearing about the snow you are getting makes my hands hurt. Just make sure your already numb body parts are kept nice and warm because if they're already numb how can you feel when they get too cold? I wear two gloves when I shovel and one of them is these super warm leather ski mittens and underneath is a thin glove that keeps the heat in.

We're supposed to get a bit of snow today and then more later this week but I'm sure it'll just pass us by like it usually does lately. Any snow you don't want send my way! Then I'll have the excuse to stay home in my jammies with hot chocolate -- and a stash of chocolate!!

I live in a winter wonderland as well, and we too have our fair share of snow coming. I believe you are gonna push it this way when you are done with it.

I have loads of chocolate hidden. mmmmm chocolate!

It's snowing here now too, so I need to get out and round up a few things before anything accumulates.

I don't know how much we're supposed to get, but it's supposed to keep coming for at least 3 days.

I have Reynaud's so I know what you mean about being extra careful this time of year. How can you tell, if your hands and feet are always freezing lol? I get someone else to shovel if possible. If not, only go out 10-15 mins a time. Cover head and neck too, because that's where you lose a lot of body heat. And keep moving, don't be still or stand in the snow. When you get inside, get right out of the cold clothes (boots, gloves, etc)and check to see how your parts are.

We had our first snowfall this morning. Just enough to cover the branches, grass and roads. The temp was way low this morn., so the roads were a bit nasty, causing a few fender benders.

You'd think, with all the snow we get in Ohio, these hicks would learn how to drive in it!!!

It's kinda pretty on the branches of my dead tree..

At least I dont have to shovel. (I wouldnt be able to if I wanted to...kills my back, wipes me out...I can do enough to clean off the front porch, but that's it)

Our house is in an HOA that pays to plow the snow out of our driveway and they hand shovel our front porches. (think they have snowblowers for the sidewalks) I watched the snowplow guys clean off the driveway this morning before I finally went to bed at 6am. Insomnia + a bad cold = a tired Erin.

I just woke up (at 1pm) and am surprised at how much restful sleep I got. I dont remember waking up coughing. Of course as soon as I woke up, the coughing started again.

I need to go crawl into the shower and wash my hair and see if I can get to the doctor's office before the big storm hits and see if I need antibiotics for my ear that feels like someone is stabbing it with an icepick. At least if I dont make it to my doctor's office before they close, the Emergicare is even closer to my house AND the PA from my regular doctor's office works at the Emergicare. (I would hope she's there tonight if I have to go there)

The big blizzard is still on it's way, they're saying Omaha should be getting about 10 inches, and areas around us are probably the ones getting really dumped on.

geeze, this cough sucks...maybe I should just go back to sleep, since it seems like I dont cough while I'm sleeping.
