Jim's been having a sweaty palm feeling lately but his palms are dry. Weird.

I get the same as you do soxmom. I hate spiders too.

Debbie it drives me nutty when I feel a hair that isn't there. It feels like between my fingers, or maybe on my face and I look for it or rub my face to remove it.

It's just our brain sending a wrong signal to our sensory nerves, skin or muscles. Our brains get a bit mixed up at times. Try to change the sensation. Dip your hand in cold water or warm water. Change what the brain thinks it feels or senses.
