btw, LCD is way better than plasma. that is why the plasma prices are falling so much lately. From the first time you turn on a plasma TV the colors are dimmer, and dimmer. After 10 years they will be washed out, and faded. Also the burn in rate is high. That little ticker or scroll at the bottom of the screen on news channels or CC?? it burns into the screen! Awful!

LCD is as sharp for color 10 years later, as the day you took it out of the box. Most stations dont broadcast past 420p so a 720 is more than enough for most folks, unless you buy into an HD box. If you are going to do blu ray and or PS3 high intense graphics go for the big stuff. Under 32inch it wont matter if its 720 or higher, its all the same. dont waste your money. above 32 you want the bigger numbers!

I love that I have a big one. I am so visually impaired. its brought back the fun to seeing TV again.

I almost forgot, we still have our 53 inch Sony projection tv that my dad bought in 2003. It's in the family room, and is usually the tv that my boyfriend and I watch movies on. That one and my mom's plasma upstairs have the HD cable boxes on them. I think my LCD tv in my room with no HD cable boxes looks almost as good as the tv's with the HD boxes.

My dad also still has my mom's 32 inch tv that's not a plasma or LCD and it's not a flatscreen. I think we bought it in 2003. It's a big heavy box of a tv, but it does get HD, and the picture on that tv is really good.

I love gadgets, I love fancy tv's, and it's so fun to go shopping for that stuff. It's almost as fun to go shopping for a new gadget as it is to play with the new gadget once you get it home.

Dej, I've noticed that on my projection TV. In the lower right hand corner the Animal Planet logo is always there. It's dim but you can see it.

Well, baby, I do understand, I did however ask the opinon of my DH...

Why would you even ask me such a thing? The last TV I had was a 52 inch which weighed a ton and you never let me forget it every time you had to move it, like it was my fault the wheels were missing. [COLOR="Red"]Yeah it was.[/COLOR

As far as more money...I made more in one week than you made in three months...but do I get a say so about anything? NOPE, I have one TV and you get the other...I say he justs sends her flowers, cooks her dinner, cleans the bathrooms and maybe she'll come around, unless of course she's like you.

Yeah, I'm not cooking his dinner for the rest of the week.lol
Good luck, my lil space engineer...sing her that Big Green Tractor song only use Big White Space shuttle.

The 50" rear projection Sony goes to the master bedroom and the 27" goes to the game room and the 25 " goes to the spare bedroom, etc.

I WANT A 10,000 INCH TV!!!

Don't you women understand???

And she makes all of 20 cents an hour more than me. Sheesh!!!!!

Tom

Oh we understand..... kind of the reason i brought home the DLP Projector and surround sound. You can make it as big as you want! Of course some schmuck (We won't name names but suffice it to say the only male in this house) took it to work and jolted the bulb.... and i ma still waiting on the $300 to replace the bulb....

LOL TOM we have the same argument going at our house. Only problem with the bigger screen... our room isn't big enough to be proportional with the larger screen. 55" is our limit too!

10,000 inches??? Am I estimating wrong, or is that about 2 city blocks long? We have a fairly decent size screen, and it's 29" long.

Just can't say I feel sorry for you. Couldn't even fit a 55" TV in our BR w/o taking out some other stuff. And, it's already almost twice the size of our larger than avg one in the LR. A 55" one would prop fit in the LR, but, would overpower everything else. Cannot imagine what an 82" screen would look like. 2 1/2 yardsticks long!

~ Faith

Lol! Just read more closely, cuz this sure didn't make sense. It was HUMOR. Oh, I get it.

We had a 18 year old 36 inch Zenith. Dh wanted a 42 in flat screen. I said *Whaddevah..." As long as he was willing to move it, lol. I'm not lugging that beast around.

He's a shopper, when he gets a hair up his butt.

He found a 46" the same price.

I said *Whaddevah*.

Funny story about that- we had to hide it in bedroom. OMG, two feet from the bed. LOL....He Kinda felt greedy spending all that $$$ on himself, at Christmas, right. Then we turn it on - first thing we see? JOHNNY DEPP movie .LOL...

I said - now that's what I'm talking about!

So he turns the channel. Shop NBC - selling jewelry. Gemstones as big as a bowling ball.

He says - This is going to be a bad idea. I can see it now! How do I block this channel?

Turnded out, I liked the big tv.
