I am wondering why the earthquake didn't wake up my dog and cat.

Blessings2You 02-10-2010 11:51 AM

Hmm, maybe cats and dogs have built in richter scales?

Debbie D 02-10-2010 03:27 PM

I wonder if DH and I are going to be able to get to Baltimore tomorrow evening...I'm kind of nervous going there...with all the snow, etc.

Dejibo 02-10-2010 06:54 PM

Why do migraines find me when I get a hole in my schedule large enough to do something for ME?! I got to spend the afternoon in bed with a mask over my eyes.

Why does the paper carrier always throw my paper into the middle of the grass whenever it's raining or snowing.......but when it's dry out it's smack in the middle of my driveway???

Hmmmmm, my papergirl brings mine up on the porch and places it inside the storm door. NaNaNaNaNa.:p

I am wondering what to say to all those widows who will be serving our valentines day lunch today. Each year the town puts on a valentines day lunch to benefit the town manger. it turns out normally that all the old widows/widowers serve. I am in love with my DH, even tho on days I want to kill him, and love to hold hands in public. I am wondering if expressions of my love, will upset those who have lost their loves? :o

This is just my opinion.....but it doesn't upset me. Yes, I still miss my DH and wish he were here but for some reason it makes me smile to see couples who love each other and aren't afraid to hold hands. Especially elderly couples who've been together for years and years. It just warms my heart to see them.

I am wondering why most women swoon, and fawn over gorgeous men. Most turn out to be shallow, and high maintenance. I see it in 99.5% of my g/fs. They all fall apart over chiseled bodies, and clean lines. I guess I am just weird. I see that paper boy and think "good lord! he must spent 12 hours a day at the gym." that means 12 hours a day when he could be productive.

Is it just me? am i weird?

No, you're not weird. In reality....I would never want to have a hubby (or even a boyfriend) who looked like that. Waaaaaay to much emphasis on the outside and not enough time spent on the inside (usually). Not all "pretty people" are shallow but I've been around enough of them to see that many are.

Just look at us, Dej.......we're drop dead gorgeous and we're not shallow! ;)

Blessings2You 02-14-2010 04:14 PM

A friend of mine commented/complained to her boyfriend (former boyfriend, I might add) that he got an awful lot of attention from the chicks. His response? "When you look like I do, you have to expect that."

Probably you find it hard to believe that she dumped him.

FaithS 02-14-2010 04:19 PM

Going to see "Valentine's Day" movie this aft w/ DH. He invited DS18 to our date, but, thankfully, DS doesn't like romances.

I don't think I've ever seen a man and thought he was gorgeous until I heard him talk a little. I need more info to decide if they are attractive than the exterior. Maybe I'm weird.

But that said, I don't want to be with someone who isn't attractive. Not that I'm shallow, but everyone deserves a mate who feels that way about them, and everyone really is deseirable to somebody.

EricP 02-15-2010 08:21 AM

Random thoughts?....

Very stressed and not really happy...just making due.

Oh look at me complain lol.

Kitty 02-15-2010 08:44 AM

How can a bird poop on my car door window? Do they fly sideways? Do they aim???

Blessings2You 02-15-2010 09:15 AM

I think it has something to do with el nino.

Dejibo 02-15-2010 09:18 AM

I am wondering why a b/f I havent seen or talked to in 30 years looked me up on Facebook. he listed his martial status as single, then its complicated, then married, then its complicated, then married....you know thats trouble, yes? He is so barking up the wrong tree! :o

SallyC 02-15-2010 11:33 AM

I so think you are special B2U ! You always say something that makes
me smile!:)

Debbie D 02-15-2010 09:19 PM

My random thought for the day is: when you hear a foot of snow sliding off of a roof, it seems as if the whole world is falling apart...or at least this is a symbol of how life seems at the moment...

FaithS 02-15-2010 09:42 PM

Flowers and a gift from DH for Valentine's Day was nice.

I usually get a card. I could count the times on one hand that I got flowers in 25 years, and, it was usually 2 or 3 carnations, not a bouquet, like today. And, I've never had a Valentine's Day gift.

Any guys here?..... Where are U?...

Dejibo 02-16-2010 09:42 AM

I agree with Eric! where are the guys? I saw txbatman post in the keep moving thread.

Where did all our guys go?

SallyC 02-16-2010 10:24 AM

They are all lurking around and posting once in awhile.

Come on Guys, welcome Eric. He needs to know there's a little testosterone around. :D

Blessings2You 02-16-2010 11:58 AM

Bisquick was invented in 1931. I love making their "impossible pies". Never made biscuits with it, though. I like my own recipe.

Dejibo 02-16-2010 12:28 PM

if its an impossible pie, why bother to try?

Kitty 02-16-2010 12:36 PM

If you mess the recipe up is it OK? Since it was impossible to begin with?

I guess we won't get supper, if I let the macaroni from the mac and cheese boil in water without the macaroni.

It is a really neat site. I found it through stumbleupon dot com - another cool site. They are really cool things that make you think about the little things that people do for others and we each do for others. It kind of motivates me to do more little things instead of the big things.;)

Debbie D 02-17-2010 02:04 PM

I kind of wish people would think of these types of things instead of being so negative about everything all the time...this country would be better for it...

What kind of art do you do? Drawing, charcoal, oils, ceramics, quilting, scrapbooking?

Not an artist myself, but DD, mom and MIL are.

If I read this here, sorry for the repeat:

I read that there are as many MRI machines in Chicago as there are in all of Canada.

I am wondering how DD got to be so smart... oh, wait... yup, that was me!

DD 5, just read me a 40 page first grade reading book and only had trouble with 3 words, she was able to sound out the rest of the words that she has not learned yet. Not bad for a kindergarten kid who FINALLY got to go back to school today after two and a half weeks off because of the snow!

I am very proud of her. She is really excited about reading so I am hoping to encourage her as much as I can.

oh, I should probably add that 40 pages sounds like a lot but there are only one or two sentences per page... but still!
