I like it all except the hockey. And the curling can get boring unless you really like it. I'm pretty set on getting off the TV at 9 PM and recording whatever is on at 9 and after. So I haven't got to watch much of the opening ceremony.

It's kind of sad but yet I'm proud of the countries that have one or two athletes. They have to be very strong to walk out there with just the coach and trainers. And the hope of the nation is on thier shoulders.

It was terrible about the young luge racer who died during his training round.

I'm sad that someone died before the opening ceremonies started.

I dont watch the Olympics. To me they're boring. The only competitions I might even watch would be the hockey games.

I think the other competitions I'd watch are summer games events, and they never show you those. The martial arts events. Judo mostly, and Tae Kwon Do. (my dad used to take me with him to his Judo workouts when I was little. Whole reason I love Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee movies) They never seem to air those events...they'll show you a few blurbs on the news, or just give you the names of the winners.

I have been having headaches, so I am staying away from the high def TV. I did see the news and the video of that russian who flew off the luge and smack into that pole! OMG! how sad.

I live in NH and we have several atheletes in the games, and the news gives constant running commentaries all day now about who is doing what event.

Canada is having some issues with lack of snow, and the warm weather up there.

I must admit I can stay glued to the TV all day watching sports i wold never think of watching before, but it's the Olympics! The winter Olympics does seem more dangerous than the summer.

I taped the opening ceremonies and watched it today. I guess there was equipment malfunction on the torch lighting. My DVT stopped just as they were going to light the only three parts of the thingy that came up. So i didn't get to see it. They replayed it today so I got to see how it all finished up.

Not planning to watch much. I kinda got "Winter Olympicked" out in 2002, during my first MS flare, when I was recovering from both the stroke-like symptoms, and, even worse, the severe dizziness that caused nausea and sometimes vomitting when in an upright sitting or standing position. Although I was grateful, then, for something to watch on TV, it now brings back memories that I don't wish to re-live.

Have tended to follow the Summer Olympics more, because DD was a competitive swimmer for 9 yrs. But, I've had about enough of Michael Phelps, and, I doubt if Dara Torres will come back again. I guess there are a few other swimmers that I could still follow that I'm familiar with.

My dad, a good Canadian from SK, likes curling. He's in a curling league 3x a wk every winter, the last 10 yrs, or so, since he retired.

My BIL is one of the top curlers in Ottawa and curls 7 days a week. It's very addicting I guess.

We went to the world championships in April 2006, right after the Olympics. All the teams from the winter games were there. It was fantastic!

I don't know why, but I tend to avoid the olympics. I liked seeing a Vermonter win the first gold, though.
