We finally got some good news! We met with Arnie's oncologist yesterday who told us that the lung nodules had neither gotten larger nor smaller, but this time had stayed the same. He said this is good news. He also said that the Interleukin 2 was still in his system, boosting his immune system, and that is also good. He wants to do another set of CT scans in three months. Then, if there are changes we will go from there. Arnie asked him about a brain MRI and a bone scan, as the IL2 doesn't penetrate bone. He doubted that there was any cancer in those areas because he wasn't having bone pain or headaches. However, I said that I would feel better if these scans were done. They are being set up for next week. I think they need to be thorough and since the cancer spread from the kidney to the lungs, that his bones and brain need to be scanned again just to be sure. It makes sense to me, anyway.
Now, Arnie has a three-month reprieve from Interleukin. He is thrilled, and I am thrilled for him! Now our lives can get back to normal again, Now, we can both breathe a little easier.
